    Is this lithium battery good to use on a SE/30 board?

    I'm relieved that on my recent SE/30 purchase the battery (Maxell dated 89-10) managed to stay intact all this time. Replaced it with a fresh SAFT battery from Amazon.

    Which model fan did you end up going with? Did you slow it down or run it at full speed?

    Did you clean the logic board? The caps you replaced where probably leaking and there could be conductive gunk in there. Also double check your solder joints, especially on the 47uF caps since they are SMT electolytics which can be tricky to solder.

    Classic with battery damage—can it be saved?

    I've read recommendations for using vinegar to clean and neutralize gunk prior to wash/soak with IPA. Is this worth doing, or will it just harm things more?
