I would suggest that the 5V (main) resistor be higher power rating than the 25W you are showing. Thw 25W power rating is a maximum, and running resistors at their maximum power rating is a little questionable. At the very least, it will run very hot, at worst, if the 5V is a little high...

From the schematic, you could always lift R48, and then use the R48 pad that goes to pin 5 can be connected to ground through a pull down resistor (suggest 47 to 75 ohms).

My drive appears to be non-functional in that it doesn't read CDs. The CDs are visible in other machines.It does power up, seems to spin up (from the sound) but doesn't read anything.

Update on the 7300/200. I managed to get video out of it by removing the old PRAM battery, waiting for a week, and then putting a new PRAM battery into it (I received battery that in my Centris 650). Its still not booting up, as I need a hard drive for it, but it is progress. I got a start up...
