    Amiga....

A "local" guy (meaning: within 24 hours drive, and in the same country...) has made me an offer I can't refuse for my non-working A4000. So I have a couple $ to spend upgrading my A1200 which I will be just as happy with....

    Amiga....

Grumble. No luck getting any life out of this thing (despite all the helpful guys here and on other forums). She's parts I'm afraid. I'll just have to stick with my 1200 for the time being. Thanks guys!

    Amiga....

Hi, Thanks for the support. The battery is not obviously leaking but I'm sure it's dead. Should it still be bootable with a dead battery? I have removed and reseated everything removable, including the CPU card and CPU. If I remove ALL the RAM SIMMs, I get the green "Chip RAM bad" error...

    Amiga....

Picked up yesterday a (non-working so far) Amiga 4000/040 desktop with Warp Engine accelerator, Emplant Mac emulator card, 2 SCSI HDs, Mitsubishi DiamondScan monitor, loads of software/books/mags, etc. Already using the monitor on another Amy but I really want to make the A4000 work!

    good deal?

There were two SEs on the local freecycle last week. Since my collection is in 'purge' mode rather than 'acquire' mode I declined to offer to pick them up. I am also in 'decline' mode for a local loaded Pismo for $200.

    Seek Pismo opinion.

I still haven't bought it. I've been busy every weekend and evening and haven't been able to go see the guy. Maybe tomorrow night unless wifey has something planned for me.

    Today's conquest

GPIB is used to interface to scientific and industrial equipment. It's also the interface the old Commodore PETs used for peripherals like disk drives and printers.

    Free Amigas

You know there used to be a Mac emulator that would run on these things.... A-Max! that was it. And apparently Basilisk II has an Amiga version as well. Once you inevitably get tired of trying to do anything useful with this stuff, you can send me the Amy monitor and I won't even charge you...
