There are a bunch of ways to connect your Macintosh to the internet.. I even connected my Macintosh Plus to the internet with System 6.0.8, MacTCP and MacPPP via serial cable (modem/printer port) to a laptop running linux and pppd - connected to wifi. I "called" my laptop from the Plus, got a...
I guess I just have to try some of myself and see. The strange thing though is that some of the 68k machines support 1152x870, but not 1024x768. Why is that? 1024x768 is less, and if the machine have enough ram to make 1152x870 work, why not 1024 too? :-/
I've also seen 'hacks' like...
How is the screen sharp/clearness @ 800x600 running on a 15" native 1024x768 screen, or a 17" native 1280x960? Are every LCD the same or is there any we should keep away from/or get?
I think the best option would be buying a 20" LCD on a native 1600x1200 resolution, because the 1:1 pixel ratio...
Yeah, I'm actually planning to do the same on my Plus this summer.
I've seen some people mentioning the higher quality 'tantalum caps' in other threads. Is that the one we should use on the Plus analog boards as well?
So in addition to nvdeynde's questions, my specific question is;
Does...
Yes, the SIMMs came with the card. You mean these 256 KB SIMMs are hard to find, or a GC board with any SIMMs at all?
The SIMMs are identical 64 pins, and the chips are marked "TMS44C256DJ" & "EDP 026J P" on one side, "TMS44C256DJ" & "EDP 026W 7" on the other.
The only other number I...
but can it do 1024x768 on a (15") LCD screen? I read somewhere it can't, just the two resolutions I mentioned?
Even though 1024x768 is less than 1152x870.
Nice, and a Hebrew keyboard again.
Is this LCD screen connected to your Quadra 700? With the built-in graphics card? And if so, what resolution is the screen? 19"?
What kind of resolution do you get from it? Isn't it either 800x600 or 1152x870? It doesn't look like either of those.
Edit...
With a original ROM we would get a chicken and a egg problem, where we can't run the program without MacTCP and the control panel, and we can't load it from anywhere either because the ROM size is too small to include a full system.
One thing I guess you can do with dougg3's ROM is that you can...
Yes.
Actually all the international models have a small pin on the board you can insert to convert it into 110v. The US version does not have this feature.. As far as I can remember..
Edit: Added picture of pin W12. The picture is from a 512k, but I think the Plus is the same.
Yeah, I always look at the keyboard layout on these old computers. I'm using a nordic layout myself, and there aren't that many around :)
And I guess the Plus is 230v too then? International models isn't that common either :)
This is a very cool project! I can see your newest file is from 3th april 2012, but no updates in the thread. What's the latest news, CHANGELOG, TODOs? :)
Have you tried testing it over a network connection for a long period of time? How does it handle network timeout when its mounted?
If you...
