Outbound Laptop HDD question ... weird display issues.

Could the drive be pulling too much power?

    Indigo iMac G3/500 (probably dead)

No AirPort or carrier, RAM appears to be minimal (one stick). I had thought about pulling the drives, maybe throw the DVD up on the TradingPost or LEMSwap. Hadn't thought about the speakers or mobo, but if they're not too hard to pull... Watch this space, I guesss. :-)

    Indigo iMac G3/500 (probably dead)

I was afraid of that. I'm finding myself hard-pressed to put any time/money into fixing it. To be honest, I picked it up on a whim, but have enough other hardware that is equal to or better than it performance-wise. I suspect that, unless a miracle occurs or someone wants to pick it up in...

    Indigo iMac G3/500 (probably dead)

Found an iMac at the side of the road on the way to work this morning. It's and Indigo and, based on the serial number, is a G3/500 (early 2001). The bad news is, it appears to be dead. I initial tried powering it on and would only get a small burst of static from the speakers when I pushed the...

    Not Apple related Palm III

I just have a IIIx and an m505. Somehow, though, I ended up with a V/Vx dock which leaves me with the question of whether to find a new home for the dock or just grab a cheap V off of ebay.

    PartsBook 1400c/133MHz for $.99 . . .

JT, Take another look at the CS (the $2.99 one)... that *is* a Zip drive in it (I thought it was a SuperDisk at first).

    PartsBook 1400c/133MHz for $.99 . . .

The CS was tempting to me as a parts systems (since I have a 1400c coming :-) , but my ebay budget is severely cramped this month due to issues at work. :-( FWIW, I usually get the Zip for everything I have too as well as the SuperDisk, on principle. I only have the Bookendz, though, for the...

    PartsBook 1400c/133MHz for $.99 . . .

This listing looked kind of interesting. Only a CS, but it comes with a SuperDisk drive.

Lombard as a MacOS 9-only box

Recently, I got it into my head to install NetBSD on my Lombard as it wasn't really doing much of anything else. This has turned out to be more hassle than it is worth, mostly due to the Rage Pro graphics. I'm now considering taking my Pismo which is my main Mac OS 9 system and making it the...

    PartsBook 1400c/133MHz for $.99 . . .

I didn't realize that you had so many 1400's. Are they really that great? I confess that they are one of the few major models that I never had, even briefly. If I didn't already have so many lappys, would it be worth trying to pick one up? (The ones on ebay usually seem out of my price range.

    mac286 and problems

I'm wracking my brain to remember if the Mac286 is 32-bit clean. I'm not sure if it's that or an '040 incompatibility. (I've only ever run one in an '030 Mac.) Okay, so you've got the original AST version- two boards, 1mb max RAM. 640k is available to DOS, the rest as "extended" memory. The OM...

Weird Stuff Warehouse trip - some Mac goods

The 600 series (600, 600e, 600x) is contemporary to and roughly analogous to the PowerBook G3 series. I say "roughly analogous" as the T2x series has more in common with the Pismo. JR P.S. Anybody got a dead battery for one... I almost forgot that I'd like to fill in that big hole on the...

Weird Stuff Warehouse trip - some Mac goods

The two bits I need are a keyboard and an HD carrier/sled. I'm afraid to ask what shipping from CA would be like, though.

Weird Stuff Warehouse trip - some Mac goods

Wouldn't it make more sense to move the drives from the 600 to the 600E or am I missing something. Please let me know if you end up with a spare 600E keyboard. I have a 600E that's been on my project list for a while which needs one (along with an hd carrier and new PRAM battery). Thanks...

    Nubus TV Tuner

I may be misremembering some of this, but I believe Aaps was founded by Nolan Bushnell. As for the hardware, there were both B&W and color cards. The B&W card, at least, would only work in 24-bit mode with an DA interface. ISTR there also being an SDK for the cards, including HyperCard...

    A rescued relic (Macintosh Classic)

Actually, the D610 and D620 both take DDR2. The only question is whether the memory from the 610 will be too slow for the 620. That said, I have a D630 from $WORK that I love... nice machine to travel with.

    iBook Battery overcharged?!!

64470 sounds like the as-built capacity (65 Watts). 4400 (4.4 Watts) sound like the current capacity and is consistent with your 35 minute estimate of actual use.
