Disk-based file transfer on a Mac generally takes the form of dragging/dropping a folder from one disk to another. There are various levels of abstraction at play here, so it will help to zero in on exactly what you want to do and how. But in general, these dsk images you speak of would be...
I don't think there's any kind of ROM restriction on how many drives the CFFA3000 can host on a GS at once. The version of ProDOS (or GSOS) can make a difference, though. What OS are you booting and expecting to see the drives in?
If you can load MouseDesk from floppy (which I don't know, I've never used it) then the version of VSDRIVE that overwrites the floppy driver ought to work (which is what I think A2CLOUD uses).
I don't have a list... if you're overwriting the floppy driver, then any ProDOS software ought to...
The serial drive driver occupies some memory that the deskop clobbers. So that's why that approach won't work. You'd have to find/make real floppy disks to run either of those desktop programs (or AppleWorks, for that matter) from the IIc - or get one of the SmartPort devices that have been...
Not to the extent that it would affect tanuki65's situation, though. The relevant issue is the DIP switch configuration - specifically SW1-5 and SW1-6. Both must be ON in order to respond to Ctrl-A. Any other config and you need to do Ctrl-I (that's the capital letter "i") in order to get the...
You should be greeted immediately with "APPLE SSC:" when you do Ctrl-A. The fact that it doesn't means the card is bad, the slot is bad, or maybe it's configured for printer rather than modem use. Have you checked the DIP switches?
Yes. This will only help you if your SSC actually works...
Most Apple II computers (not all) have cassette input and output jacks. There exists some clever software that has the ability to transport disk images to and fro using audio through those jacks. See:

You'll need to buy a USB-based microphone input. Not an endorsement of this particular one, but here is an example from Amazon:

Send me an Apricorn Super Serial Imager (it sounds like you pulled the trigger on your auction) and I'll try to add support for it. PM me if interested.
Nope. You want a real Apple Super Serial Card.

It depends. Both have their plusses and minuses. The GS has a bunch of stuff built in that the IIe doesn't (serial card, floppy cards, faster CPU). The IIe has a built-in keyboard and (according to me) more retro cred. In terms of pure monetary value, it's probably not a good deal for you...
I'm not sure if the space between the two nubs needs to be clear... so a full axle might not work. a nice tight-fitting bit of metal (perhaps as simple as a bit of clothes hanger wire might be the right size?) in a hole you drill would do well there.
...I guess this is why there are 3-D...
You'll need to repair the door. The door/hinge mechanism is different in the external drive because it has a face that goes straight down, as opposed to the slope of the front of the console. You'll have a hard time finding spare parts, so look into repairing the plastics...
Yes, you're right. You would still need the GS as the go-between since it has the built-in serial communications. But at least you can get away with (for now) just hand-wiring up your MiniDIN-8 cable and a cheapie USB-RS232 adapter... I think that's your minimal cash path. But to really do it...
You do have a case of "you can't get there from here," don't you? ;) You will be unhappy with audio even if/when you get it working. Yes, it's a line-in vs. mic amplification issue. But it's slow; painfully slow. You want to set your sights on serial. Wire up a cable, grab a cheap...
