Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I have an Apple 12" RGB monitor that doesn't use the full width of the screen. The top and bottom go to the edge of the screen, but the image needs to be stretched horizontally. On the back of the monitor I see tiny holes that let you adjust the screen position and the vertical height, but no...
The following article mentions that the APDA distributed a generic SCSI driver in assembler...

I'm not having any success finding it. Any chance someone has it? APDA product #KMSSDP.
Thanks.
Even more so than a SCSI operated led? :b&w:
Sorry to keep asking you to explain further, but I'm again confused. Are you talking about drivers for existing USB devices to work on Mac's with usb ports, or a way to get usb devices to work on pre-usb macs? Perhaps an example?
Mine too, and It's good advice, but I've had my fill of RS232. I'm looking for something more involved; not for any good reason. I'd just like to take on a hardware and/or driver project. It's pretty intimidating to take the first step though.
Ack! ;)
Thanks C & P for the expounding. I appreciate it.
Looking at the links Wally posted makes me think it's a big task to do something simple with SCSI, but I still want to take a whack at it.
Ok, thanks for the input regarding vs Apple vs SCSI Standard. I'll keep it in mind, but I don't think this thread needs to go in that direction. I'm still curious about this...
... My brief look at SCSI makes me think that I should be able to implement it with a microcontroller. Am I way off...
I'm not sure I fully understand. What do you mean by "use the provided drivers"? Does this mean, "use the SCSI Manager" or something else? Also, I assumed that I would be making a custom SCC chip, is this ridiculous?
I realize people often bite off more than they can chew when they get into...
Perfect, thanks. Several of the used booksellers don't mention the revision/edition number, but they have the publication date. I'm guessing that 1988 would include the SE and II?
It is, but I obviously dismissed it too quickly. I'm finding some good hardware info, although I'd still like to know if there's another source.
I've browsed some of the BSD stuff, but it's not so much about the hardware as it is interacting with it, which is better than nothing, but still not...
I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any PDFs (or webpages) that cover the hardware side of the ADB or SCSI specs? I've found the OS/Software info in Inside Macintosh, but I'm looking for the specs/data/etc for the hardware. I figure Apple must have published something for peripheral...
I've had an eMate for well I don't know. I got it new after they discontinued, so 10 years? I've used it for many things, and am quite fond of it. I do think the HWR is a bit questionable. Not sure why this is. I think it's more the ergonomics than the software since the 2x00 do so well...
I hate to go against you Bunsen, but when a DeLorean time-travels, it comes out very cold. Running on "The Power of Love", this is no doubt an unexplainable anomaly.
Well I did find a copy of PSPrinter 8.2.1, so I'll try that first.
I do have Netatalk working, and use it for file sharing, but didn't think about it as a possibility for printing. I'll look into that too, but as you said, setup can be a pain, so I'd like a solution that will work even if I...
