    Radius PrecisionColor Pro 24x

I may restart this thread in the Quadra section since this problem has evolved way past the single video card. After a weekend of trying various combinations, I can get the machine to boot using on-board video (640 x 480 x 8 bit) but can only CLICK - not move the mouse - and I've tried this...

(Almost) dead Q950 - video artifacts w/ key lock @ ON

@beachycove: Thanks for the suggestions. I will strip out all the the cards, even the NuBus ethernet card and start with that. While I mentioned A/UX in the primary file server role this machine plays, I was getting (unrelated?) Sad Macs right after the boot process started on the MacPartition...

Custom Bootable ROM Images for BMOW SIMM?

@olePigeon Unfortunately, your ROM image isn't working - I'll keep trying as I've been playing around with ROM SIMM capacity (looks like yours is 512 KB and I have 4 MB and 8 MB SIMMs) in the programmer utility but I get horizontal stripes, even after holding it in/bracing by hand. I don't know...

(Almost) dead Q950 - video artifacts w/ key lock @ ON

I've always had less-than-reliable (but better than wonky) functionality with the Thunder24 NuBus, to the point where I put off any work involving new cards... and once I had to open to open the case and move something, I crossed fingers and left it alone. However, this situation called for...

(Almost) dead Q950 - video artifacts w/ key lock @ ON

Hmm, thanks for that. I forgot to mention it takes 3-4 rapid clicks for me to do anything but, to your point, I suspect something bigger than the keylock itself. I have a Snooper card and application I can pull out but I don't have loopback dongles so not sure what I'll be able to find out (and...

(Almost) dead Q950 - video artifacts w/ key lock @ ON

I have a 950 that has been the most stable machine in my arsenal, just sitting there, serving up files from within A/UX. I also maxed out the RAM to 256 MB and threw a NuBus Ethernet card and SuperMac Thunder/24 card in (since I can't get my hands on the usual 950 "hen's teeth"). Well, I had an...

    Radius PrecisionColor Pro 24x

So here's the latest and I still think it's either the system clock or ADB-related junk.  After playing around with various card combinations (to try and wake the system up in the event slot manager is looking to address a card that it thinks is there but isn't), I can somewhat-reliably get to...

Possibly something to do with Slot Manager? The below issue had the same hex major/minor and looked like a slot interrupt conflict:  SE/30 Boot Exception - Compact Mac - 68kMLA Forums

    Radius PrecisionColor Pro 24x

I've been up all night the last three nights trying to work through this... For me, when I fix one machine, one goes down so I guess I was due. I'm getting a sad Mac + 0000000F/00000033 with every single combination - video, no video - VRAM, no VRAM - w/ and w/o the 601 card, etc... zapping...

Custom Bootable ROM Images for BMOW SIMM?

Totally get that. Personally, if I can get the Turbo 040 driver on top of everything else, I'd like to actually drop in the Quadra chimes and as I said in my OP, drop the A/UX MacPartition in there (which is less than 4 MB, IIRC, but I have the MEGA SIMM so that shouldn't be a problem. So many...

Custom Bootable ROM Images for BMOW SIMM?

Thanks, Sunoo. The BMOW ROM-inator II has a universal ROM already applied that works in the IIx, IIcx, IIci, IIfx, IIsi and SE/30 and includes a bootable ROM disk. But good to see alternatives and really good to see others do it by themselves! Because you should be able to apply the same...

Custom Bootable ROM Images for BMOW SIMM?

Thought I would leave this here since there isn't but maybe should be a repo for custom ROM hacks for those of us that have a ROM SIMM programmer from Steve or Doug. Here is a Q900 ROM from Rob Braun via https://www.thinkclassic.org/viewtopic.php?id=616 Quadra-900-mod.rom  - Q900 ROM with ROM...

    3D-Printed Objects

I'll take some measurements when I get home - but it almost looks like you could take off the buttons (round caps) and it would work? I would start with that assumption and tweak the "stems" before you start redesigning the entire piece. Just take off the round cap.

Anyone else with a NewerTech PowerPump (Q700/900/950)?

Hmmm... but that's what a PowerPump is supposed to do for a Quadra 700 - it boosts the system clock speed up to 40 MHz (it's variable and it's not the default speed). The 68040 CPU I bought is rated for 50 MHz so that's not the bottleneck. It has a "panic button" on the back of the NuBus card...

Anyone else with a NewerTech PowerPump (Q700/900/950)?

I have a clock-chipped Q700 (66 MHz oscillator) with a 50 MHz Apple 601 PDS card (basically an Apple-branded PowerPro 601) and PowerPump. For those not familiar, NewerTech PowerPump - Quadra 700/900/950 (eBay) Newer Technology's PowerPump Accelerator - Unboxing and Installation (YouTube)  It...

    3D-Printed Objects

That’s great work. It was my post you were referring to and yea, it was a IIci (I have a 700 as well, but I have the switch).  If if I can swag some measurements based on photos or at least my IIci’s case openings, care to hazard a guess on a IIci switch? The “spring” mechanism appears to be...

[Link inside] Is this an accurate Q950 CD bezel?

I have the generic "frame-only" model and have used it on a Tandberg tape drive to (briefly) a disassembled Apple CD 300i - in fact, I 3D-printed the .stl file from https://modelrail.otenko.com/apple/quadra-950-case-issues-and-modifications There's been chatter in the 3D printing thread about...

SE/30 Pixel 'Snow' Artifacts After 10 Minutes or More

@Bolle I don't know if this is worth mentioning (because it seems like a wholly different issue) but remember the issues I PM'ed you on? The intermittent freezing that I thought might have had to do with PSU load, heat or the lack of an FPU on my Turbo 040? Well, it devolved to flat-out failure...

[Link inside] Is this an accurate Q950 CD bezel?

Rats. That was my hunch because it looked way too rounded but thought it might have chance, what with all the variations I’ve seen up to this point. Would have been a lot easier (for me) to rule out if there was a single CD-ROM bezel to compare to.  Then again, if this was legit, they’d be out...

[Link inside] Is this an accurate Q950 CD bezel?

Asking because there is a Q900 floppy bezel on the same site (Milagro Computer) but it looks more like a Q800/840A floppy... there's no mistaking the 900/950 floppy bezel (nice right angles) The CD bezel, not so sure. It doesn't look the same as the other different ones I've seen (some with...
