Come to think of it, the Plus can mount the Classic's Had Disk but I can't mount the Plus's floppy on the Classic.
But couldn't sharing be made possible with a floppy, say with ResEdit, despite how slow this might be?
I managed to see some Pear PC OS X files on my Plus by the following route.
1) I first mounted a Pear PC folder on the PC as an SMB share
2) I then map this folder as a drive on the PC, otherwise PCMacLAN can't see it,
3) I then add this mapped drive to PCMacLAN's shared drives and folders...
I did read these articles but I'm in the UK where shops won't stock anything slighty out of the ordinary - and thought my idea with the dummy battery was a design classic?
My Plus is connected to an AsanteTalk LocalTalk/Ethernet adapter which is connected to a Linksys 54G WAP through a 10T switch.
So I thought I'd try mounting disks/folders on my Classic (connected by the en/sc) and a wi-fi connected (cough) PC downstairs runing PC MacLan and a Basillisk...
I just want a good replacement drive - as the 160MB drive my 6100/60 died, but when I asked a few sellers of 68 pin SCSI drives with adapters they turned out to be refurbished.
I would like to keep it standard, I don't really want to fit a drive with an adapter in the 6100/60's empty CD bay...
At the thought of spending more for a battery than I did for the Plus I shaped a piece of wood to fit the battery compartment, screwed two contacts onto it made from a tin can, fastened this to a 3 x AA battery carrier and wired the contacts up.
The length of the dummy battery plus the contacts...
Thank's for the thought Gumby, unfortunately I live in the UK.
But I have since bought a mouse from eBay.co.uk and when this arrives it should allow me choose the settings to connect the Plus to my ethernet network through an AsanteTalk adapter - even if I have to copy paste letters and...
I see, it's either serial or ADB.
The adapter mentioned by bolle is very interesting but I haven't built anything since a radio crystal set!
Ever surprised by this forum.
Having aquired a Mac Plus with no keyboard I wonder if I can connect it to a Classic keyboard by grafting a phone connector onto an ADB lead - with the right pinouts.
Does anyone have any experience of doing this, is it possible?
I've just made a boot disk for a Mac Plus, but you do needto write the os to aa 800k Double Density floppy disk as I understand the drive in a Mac Plus can't read the later High Density floppy disks.
Is this the said informaton?

The trouble is one of my favourite films is The Flight of the Pheonix in which a disparate group of men make a flyable plane from the wreckage of their crashed plane in the...
Tried the repeated power up cycle technique, no luck - not yet anyway.
More detailed account, the drive starts to spin at one speed for a few seconds and then makes a noise before "I think" attempting to go faster but it doesn't sustain this second speed or phase and slows to a stop, so I...
