I recently bought a Firewire Clamshell ibook which will run Tiger and System 9.2.2 at the same time, so if I want I can have my Mac mini's HD and my SE/30's HD (via Shareway ip) both mounted on it's desktop.
A great bridge machine, and I'm still looking for an OS for it's third partition.
I want to adjust the height on my B&W Macintosh Classic but can't find the information on which screw/pot to turn... as there are a few... and don't want to turn the wrong one.
If it helps my Allied Telesyn International adapter has a SQE heartbeat switch on one side re: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/lan-switching/ethernet/46786-12.html
"The SQE heartbeat is designed to fix the problem in earlier versions of Ethernet where a host does not know if a...
The other sounds are good it's just the startup bong and this was a new board* a few years ago.
Can I find the Bong with ResEdit?
*the original had an irrepairable video socket problem. xx(
I discoveed that if I set 'Classsic Networking' in the Network Software Selector (control panel?) on both macines, the 6100/60 and the Basilisk running 7.5.5, then the 6100/60 (also) appears in the Basilisk chooser as follows
Hallelujah !! :b&w:
Forgot to add, I have a User set up and sharing is running on the 6100/60, I can also mount it's HD on the Classic's desktop, it just won't show on the Basilisk !
I have a Classic with a MINI EN/SC and a 6100/60 with a AAUI Transceiver both are conneted to a 10Based T ethernet hub hardwired to my router.
But when running Basilisk II on a WinXP machine the Classic shows up in the Chooser window but not the 6100/60 ?
And I've tried everything to get the...
Yes, very handy, I booted it from the ROM and then formatted the drive with HD SC Setup 7.3.5+ on a floppy before installing the system.
I forgot I had a "dual boot" machine!
I had to make some serious brackets to get the full height 80MB IBM drive in, to move it back and towards the center of the machine, see picture.
But the good news is, it makes some great start up noises, reads and writes a lot faster and recognises all of the 80MB !
I'm very pleased...
No it's definitely a Conner.
Thanks, but I'm not ready for Open-Drive-Surgery yet, though last night I had to give a Barracuda a slight tap to get it spinning, like tapping old electric fuel pumps to seperate stuck contacts.
Thanks for the suggestion max1zzz only I don't need another challenge at the moment, so I looking for the easier option. :b&w:

"sadmanonatrain" I'm interested. Apart from formatting and blessing was your IBM drive plug and play? or...
I replaced the caps near the speaker and my problem remains, so I tried the drive in my 6100/60 and it's doing the same
So it's the driive after all.
Plan B, has anyone put one of these in a Classic...
