    Honestly?  That would probably be the safest bet.  I have no way of knowing if I killed the motherboard doing this.  Getting a known-good one and recapping that too would probably be a better bet. I'm usually on IRC under this handle, but I'd also PM me here if you want to leave a paper trail.

    I successfully recapped my IIsi logic board, but unfortunately it had feedback issues in the video circuit that I narrowed down to the power supply--namely, physically tapping the tops of the DC-side capacitors in the PSU would cause the banding in the picture to get better or worse.  It did...

    USB to ADB?

    USB to PS/2 is definitely passive but adb to ps2 would have to be some kind of active adapter with circuitry for converting the signals. I would think, anyway.
