Way too close to a heat source. Had a plumber do something like that once. Not to a Mac, fortunately. He had his blowtorch in-hand and on and was talking. He was the type that talked with his hands . . .
I have a couple with what I thought were mild pry marks. If your examples are considered mild, I guess mine are almost non-existent. 8-o
You could possibly use a plastic filler (and then press into it with a mouse or other case piece that has the same texture) but the color will almost...
So, the service guide says to take out the SDIMMS and logic board and all sorts of stuff. Meanwhile, a post on another forum says to replace the battery. Given that replacing the battery is by far the easiest thing to do, that would seem to be the first thing to try. However, given that I...
So, I was going to ask for recommendations for a display for a Blue & White G3. I booted it up so I could see what resolution I ran it at so I could get a display that would work at that same resolution. Except that I booted it up, and nothing shows up on the display. I know it's...
FWIW, I used to run an SE/30 as a server. It did not have a screensaver. I kept the brightness all the way to black on the display when I didn't need to use it. I don't remember how many years I ran it that way. Needs a recap now but the screen (last I checked) is still good.
Nothing to contribute here either. Just posting my appreciation for pics and info as well. I'm sure mine will need to be worked on in the not too distant future, so I appreciate having this info handy. Hopefully you solve the current issues so others, like me, will be able to avoid whatever...
That would be my guess, since the rainbow effect is different in the two photos. I'm looking at the copyright symbol area of the About box. In the top photo, the copyright symbol is in an orange-y part of the rainbow. In the bottom photo, the copyright symbol area is in a blue-white portion...
This reminds me how much I hate the lack of consistency in identifying software versions. Used to be by version, then the trend started where they used the year and then some reverted to version numbers again. Or you might have software that goes by year but also version number and then some...
As a side note, I don't have AppleWorks on my Mac OS X 10.6 machine, but Pages can open its .cwk files. However, the Finder defaults to trying to open them in Keynote instead.
And too many would do the whole thing in Photoshop, and those were the days before Photoshop supported vectors. Type would be converted to bitmaps which wasn't always optimal.
I remember drum scanners were able to scan in a much higher resolution than flat bed scanners of the time. Don't really know much about them beyond that as they were far out of our budget. In terms of resolution, they may not have been necessary for a CD insert. But, they might have been able...
I have a Floppy Emu I have used on my Mac Pluses, and I think also my SE. No problems that I can recall.
Been a while since I've had to transfer files with my Floppy Emu, but I think I used Mini vMac to transfer files from Mac OS X to the disk image. Either that or Basilisk II, but pretty...
I've never liked Microsoft Word. I used AppleWorks on the Apple IIe back in the day. Can't recall if I used AppleWorks on a Mac. I started a novel (that I finally finished over the weekend) in ClarisWorks on an iBook but switched to Pages (iPad) after about a month. On 68k machines, I used...
You have that problem manually doing the .ini file too. But, in the case of an online configuration tool, you can put up a big bold red (or whatever) warning to double-check the filenames before submitting.
Cool. Thanks! Though, in my case, I'd most likely have a pretty basic setup. I'm...
