Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
You know, I've seen the font resource show up when I've opened things in ResEdit, but I don't think I ever thought to try to edit a bitmap font in it. Not that I remember anyway.
But, I think I had a copy of Fontographer before I ever used ResEdit, so I probably would have never bothered...
Are you saying ResEdit has some font editing capabilities I've overlooked all these years? Could it be used to create fonts or just edit?
Wait . . . Are you the Mark Simonson? Of Changeling Neo and Proxima Nova?
THANK YOU!
I had obviously forgotten that.
Worked for what I needed, aside from cursing my teenage self for stuffing a bunch of code on the one line that was otherwise the easiest to edit to do what I needed.
Follow-up dumb question . . .
Can I load a program into memory, and then edit a specific line of the program (and then run it) without saving to disk? (I don't know if it can save to the virtual disk but I don't need to save it anyway.) If so, how?
I hate that I don't even remember any of...
Okay, first, I am trying this in the Virtual ][ emulator and not on an actual Apple IIe. But, I think it should function pretty much the same.
I have a program on a (virtual) diskette. I can use "LOAD filename" to load the program into memory and then "LIST" will show the program. But, it...
KeepItUp would "click" dialog windows to prevent a server from being paused while waiting on a keypress. I think it would also reboot the machine. I don't remember if it did any kind of scheduled rebooting.
I do remember scheduled reboot utilities, but can't recall any names at the moment...
I'm glad this thread came back to life as I hadn't seen it before.
I have an extra Mac Plus logic board with no analog board or CRT or anything else and it would be nice to be able to build something with it that could use a modern display.
No, the OP said a "RCA to hami" convertor which we assume to mean "RCA to HDMI". That is not the same as HDMI to RCA.
The OP would need the latter as opposed to the former to use the monitor with a Mac mini.
IMHO, the post office (and UPS and FedEx) are all worse now than they were 20-30 years ago.
I wonder if it's because, back when they started to become computerized, the people that did the sorting and delivering all knew their stuff and that, nowadays, people are too dependent on computers and...
If you end up needing more beta testers, I'd be interested. I have a bag of Mac-to-VGA adapters, a couple older VGA monitors and more than a few Macs and I don't think I have gotten either of the monitors to work with any Mac using any of the adapters.
In the interface, would there be a way to "code" it such that the 512x384 is centered on the display and the excess pixels are simply blacked out? Perhaps that would be more usable for 640x480 screens, which would leave 64 pixel margins top and bottom and 48 pixel margins on the sides. With...
Wikipedia shows about 96 glyphs available from the keyboard, depending on what Apple model. But not ones like pi or copyright or stuff like that. So, I guess maybe the question is whether programs like AppleWorks allowed for more using key combinations? And, if so, which characters?
Does anyone have or know of a map of characters/glyphs that were available on the Apple II series keyboards?
I've looked at images of the keyboards as well as typing characters into AppleWorks, but I'm trying to determine if there were any other "hidden" characters that maybe required pressing...
So, out of morbid curiosity, I took a look at my PowerBook 5300ce last night and, well, the good news is that it boots. Hard drive doesn't work; just clicks. Maybe it's repairable; maybe not. Either way, the hard drive situation can be resolved. The battery is no good. I don't know if that...
My father goes through a lot of keyboards. Most are USB since the wireless ones get to be annoying having to either charge them (with a USB cable so, um, why bother being "wireless"?) or change batteries all the time. A couple are Apple keyboards; others are MacAlly or other relatively...
