Best games/apps to showcase B&W mac?

IIci is 25Mhz with cache (usually). Classic II is 16MHz and is crippled by other factors too. That said, being as it's only rendering white and black, it probably wouldn't be too bad on it.

Best games/apps to showcase B&W mac?

Civilization and Vette! They're the only two I can think of that nobody else mentioned. Though Civ may be slow on 68K. . . Every other suggestion is sound. Personally I find the "Quest" games very poorly optimized on the Mac, barely playable but give it a go none-the-less. Wasn't Syndicate...

Help identifying NuBus RAM card. (RAM Disk?)

Thanks for that. The only Mac OS' that I'm aware of that has Quickdraw acceleration drivers is 8.1 onwards. Was there earlier OEM OS discs that had them? I'm thinking of using this in my IIvx see if it to speeds that up a little.

Help identifying NuBus RAM card. (RAM Disk?)

Oh wow really? That's pretty cool, I seriously didn't think it did that. My apologies for dismissing your first post. The IIci already has a 24-bit Radius card in it so I doubt there is any point to having this in there I suppose? Wouldn't keeping this card just bottleneck the system? I assume...

Help identifying NuBus RAM card. (RAM Disk?)

Pretty sure it has no video capabilities, hell it doesn't even have an output on the backplate! No, it does look similar to alot of the NuBus video accelerators but it is definitely only a RAM hardware thing. I'm sure I remember the diskette having a very plain looking label on it. Had...

    Bolles finds

Yeah I agree, leave it alone. Even if it was as simple as a CPU swap, these things are hen's teeth, especially the NuBus varients. I'm lucky I have a 100MHz PDS one for my Q650 but frankly, after trying that and a stock 6100, there's not a huge difference. Probably partly thanks to the 6100...

Help identifying NuBus RAM card. (RAM Disk?)

Hi again. Another bit of hardware I'm struggling to find any info on, let alone software. I got this NuBus RAM Disk Card (I think?). There's no markings or make of any kind on the card itself. Just lots of off-the-shelf looking IC's and some stickers with manufacturing numbers on them. It...

Can a PB 180c be forced to use an external display as main on boot?

The only way I can think of repairing it is perhaps getting a jumper wire from each termination. However, I have no idea if opening/closing it is going to cause stress on the individual wires that will need to be soldered to each point.

Games with color that run on Macintosh IIci

Lemmings - You mentioned this, I agree it's a must-have. Vette! - Way ahead of its time. Though colour version I've had issues with some Mac's (later ones especially). Oregon Trail - should go without saying! SimCity -. TBH, most earlier Maxis stuff will be great on the si. Wolfenstein 3D -...

Mac SE... with hard drive, network card???

That's a nice set-up. Test the floppy drives with some HD disks that are known working. Be sure to use disks you don't care about because they might get damaged if there are issues with the drives. Same goes for using unknown condition disks as the reverse could happen!

Mac SE... with hard drive, network card???

The board that sits on the back of the CRT has come away. You should not be able to see the set of pins that are on the back of the tube. That white circular thing on the board is like a plug. The good news is that all you got to do is just marry up the pins on the back of the tube to the white...

    Perfoma 450 with only a 16mhz CPU

Yeah I had an LC III with a 16MHz CPU but had a sticker over it with 25MHz designation on it. So I'm guessing they ran out of 25MHz ones just over locked them from factory. Do you know if yours is clocked at 16MHz or 25MHz?

    HDI-20 disassembly help.

Ah! That's the one, you are a legend my friend, thank you! Edit: So simple once you know! Just dismantled one and got one up and running again, thanks again. Now I got to find my NOS disks and make some software for my PB machines.

    HDI-20 disassembly help.

I got two of these HDI-20 disk drives and both have issues (one doesn't let disks in and the other seems bereft of life). There's no screws anywhere on these so how the hell do you open one up? I assume you have to pry it open but I fear I may break some clips if I do some guess work! Anyone...

Delighted by my $25 pickup today! "Quicksilver" PowerMac G4 with a surprise inside

Yup, that remote is for the Mac's that had that little rectangular black IR receiver at the front. Some 'all in one' 5000 series machines had that along with the 6000 series and the 630. Always useful.

    Help identifying Lapis PDS card.

That looks very similar to mine. That 24 looks awesome though!  Do you know if there's a way for this to work on a standard 15-pin D-sub? Is it definitely a ColorServer and not part of the Pivot/Page display range?

    Performa 630 DOS issues.

Il give your suggestions a go when I drag it out off the back-burner. I must admit, the thought of doing 3 partitions is kinda messy IMHO. I think I'd prefer to stick with 2 (as that's ideal for me with DOS taking up half of the space). What is really like to find out is how to get the damn CD...
