mAcTX - ATX to Classic Macs

Neat, I totally forgot about the Pico solution! Wouldn't be too difficult to hook it up to the standard 3-pin 'kettle' socket either if short enough.

mAcTX - ATX to Classic Macs

That's looking seriously good! I will buy atleast one (for my IIsi), if not 3 or 4 depending on price. However I think I will wait until there's some kind of 'list' of PSU's that would make good replacements for each model it's compatible with. Hopefully someone here can create some kind of...

A Pile of Stuff from Sweden!

Very nice lot, definitely worth keeping the Zip SCSI stuff. I have amassed about 6 drives and only one is the 'thought after' SCSI type. Very useful for data transfer. Nice to find an early external Apple CD drive too, pretty unusual to see someone replaced the drive though. If you can put it...

Steel ball bearing as Duo 250 trackball

Failing that, there's a fairly reasonably priced complete NOS trackball assembly. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F142744323329

Noisy Fan, flaky power switch in my LC III

That should do it. Keep us posted! Just be sure to tin the wire and the terminals with solder so you transfer as minimal heat as possible to the switch plastics. Made that mistake once!

Noisy Fan, flaky power switch in my LC III

You only need a standard 2-pin rocker switch. I don't have the exact one I bought but if the picture looks correct, I'm pretty sure they're generally all a standard size and there's an absolute ton to choose from. As long as you haven't completely borked the plastics, just note the ampage and...

How to open up a 7100?

Not complicated at all. Just unscrew the big flat-head screw recessed on the tip of the rear of the case. Slide the casing back, then lift up fro. The rear and towards you. That's it. To remove the HD, just unplug the cables and there should be a Philips/posi screw that holds the HD to the...

    PM 7600/132 HD issues.

I got both, when using the CD the helper comes up with an error something about "O'Hare". I'll get back to you on that error. Maybe it's a bad burned disc. I just figured an image would eliminate the chance of burnage issues. I can't imagine the ROM being an issue. I know for a fact this had...

    PM 7600/132 HD issues.

Well after some hair-pulling I finally managed to get the Sonnet IDE working and booting. I currently have OS 9.1 Installed, which as many of you probably know, is the last OS natively supported OS for "old world" Mac's. Ideally since it has a Radeon card installed, I'd like to use the proper...

    PM 7600/132 HD issues.

So I've gotten all my old Mac's to a point where I'm happy (at least the ones that are working). All but one machine remains, my 7600. This one is (or was) a bit of a beast. Loaded with a Crescendo G4 450/1M and half a GB of RAM, this thing used to fly. Or so I remember. I'm pretty sure this...

    Jason's Macintosh Museum

AFAIK, he's well. There have been comments he has replied to on YouTube not that long ago. I guess one has to find the time in life to upload videos. I doubt he gets any revenue from these.

    Performa 630 DOS issues.

Did you try the earlier CD-ROM extension? I couldn't test it out as my PSU gave up before I could have a chance to transfer some files.

    Performa 630 DOS issues.

Well after a month of storage, I dig out the 630 and I see I have CD-ROM driver 5.4.2. And then it died. I think my PSU needs new caps as it powers on to switch off moments after. Plus there's coil whine when I try and power it on. Ugh, not looking forward to trying to dig that out of there.  :(

    Centris 610 and other things

The Centris was never in the "pizza-box" form factor. So either whoever owned it put the wrong sticker on it, or it's an error on the listing. There was the Quadra 605 though. If you have one of them, you got a great deal. But a tenner for whatever "pizza-box" you got is a damn good deal.

IIcx with a nice surprise inside.

Thanks for the info. That's cleared alot up. It's a pity it didn't come with it. I can only imagine that daughter card is probably nigh-impossible to attain on its own. Sales for the IIcx, I've just given the board a wash, looks very good condition. No immediate signs of cap corrosion, however...

IIcx with a nice surprise inside.

So I found a IIcx for sale on the 'Bay and it was recently listed. At first I thought it looked pretty junk, and since I had a IIci, I wasn't that interested. However, as I looked through the photos I could see potential. So the only bad parts are it had no HD and it was listed as "faulty" but...

PB190, is it the worst? (Probably).

Thanks, I bought some RAM as that's the hunch I got and it's now 16MB more healthy. :) One issue I am having is trying to get my external 600e Plus SCSI drive to talk to it, via a MediaVision adapter. Does anyone know why it isn't appearing on the desktop? Tried different ID's to no avail...

PB190, is it the worst? (Probably).

Does anyone know if the 5300 parts are interchangeable with the 190? I.E. RAM and video output upgrades?
