Often occurs after a seemingly slow connection to the 68kMLA. Not sure if it's an issue that's related or not.
Does anyone else find they frequently need to relog in even though they have selected the "log in everytime" option when they enter their user name and password? I am finding that I have to do this frequently, even though I am here almost every day.
I found the other number you referred to Mac128....
On the back side, directly under the area shown in the photo link in my previous post: 802-0107-D. The dates are identical to those showing on the front.
I didn't see it before due to the plastic shield that covers the back side.
Yes, really! And the date is exactly like I wrote. The back of the board has nothing in the area you indicate. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/16539524@N00/1781846445/ for a pic of the front. This board in marked "INTERNATIONAL" on the top edge by the flyback transformer, and has instrucctions...
I also have one of these in the Apple Service box I bought via eBay. Label on the box is just like the picture you provide, JDW.
The board has 630-0108 silkscreened on it, no hand written bits. Copyright shows as "1983 - 84 - 86".
It was sold as being new etc, but it's been a while since I got...
Can anyone help? When I power it on, it gives the normal startup chime, I can hear the HD spin up and it tries to read. The display lights up but nothing shows.
I tried a System 7.0.1 Install disk, and the floppy drive crunches away but again nothing displayed on screen.
Eventually it just...
Thanks LCGuy! It powers up, I can hear the HD spin up but it doesn't boot, the screen just lights up. When I have moment I'll try with a floppy disc but something doesn't seem right.
I hope the Toshiba pans out better....
I have added a purple Revision C iMac to my collection. I will try to get pics and spec's if anyone's interested this weekend. Still trying to locate the mouse [:)] ]'>
The Dead Mac Scrolls is certainly a great book for vintage Mac repairs. I was astounded to find a copy in a box of books given to me that the guy was going to throw out if I didn't take them. I had bought an Apple IIe and a Mac 512Ke from him and he gave me the book box :)
I have a few Apple machines.....
2 IIe, both early versions (no number pad) and with Duodisks and monitors, one is in original boxes (not sure if original to that machine though).
2 IIc, both complete with the small monochrome monitors.
1 GS Woz edition with 3.5" & 5.25" external FD units.
So the 10" diagonal measurement must be the unmounted CRT itself then? I measured the diagonal on a Classic II and a Color Classic and they were almost the same - close to 9". Not that it REALLY matters :)
Looks as if the LCD may have been frozen; I have seen that happen to an LCD that was left in a truck one time. Image still shows in the blotch area though. I will likely do a transplant with the one that is not working.
A quick check with my trusty tapemeasure says yes they are the same size, measured diagonally. I wonder if the color tube is actually considered a 10" tube by Sony or maybe there's more of it hiding behine the cabinet opening?
