What's ironic is that Apple offered $100M for Be, but Gassé tried to hold them up for $200M instead. They told him to get lost because that was way too much money. But then they went ahead and bought NeXT for $400M right afterwards.
I think it's just a typo. I'm guessing the author meant to write "mid-2004" but accidentally wrote "mid-2009" because he was thinking about "10.2.9" from earlier in the sentence.
I didn't know there were any SCSI Quantum Fireballs that weren't compatible with Apple's HD SC Setup. Are you sure the one you put in requires the hacked version of the app?
I got a free PB150 off Freecycle last year. Definitely remove the rest of the rubber feet - they never harden up again and they're sticky and disgusting. It takes a number of Q-Tips and some isopropyl alcohol.
IIRC mine has maxed out RAM; but I really don't like that 2-bit (or is it 4-bit?)...
Apologies ahead of time for my ignorance on the details of which models are affected by what I'm about to say, but...
... isn't there some issue with some PPC Macs not liking the "high density RAM" that some Intel PCs can use? Might some of your RAM be high-density?
I feel like an idiot asking this since I've worked on CCs for years and even modified them, but...
... where exactly is the CUDA button on a CC motherboard? I can't find it on either of mine.

Yeah, it's a very nice conquest, especially being the 1GHz version, enabling easy installation of Leopard. And $100 is an excellent price for the 17" version. Well done!
Niiiice! Hopefully you can sell it to a 1400 user on these forums. It would be great if it were used as a bookcover as originally designed - very cool!
Nice! The 800k SE's aren't as useful as the FDHD/Superdrive ones, but I would imagine they're more collectible now because they're rarer.
And all for a pound - a true conquest!
Well done.
Nice! BeOS is really fun - and it's gotta be the quickest, simplest install around.
It is a drag, though, that there are so few Mac ethernet drivers for BeOS. Built-in ethernet is supported on the 7300-9600 series, but not the Apple (or anyone else's) CSII cards on the 6400/6500 series...
I watched most of your linked clip, and it actually looks pretty darned good considering you're using a 7600.
Recording uncompressed analog video to a 1996 Mac is a daunting task, even at 320x480.
You've got a 333MHz G3 CPU, but that means your System bus is probably running at 47.5MHz, which...
I have two favorites:
- Any 15 or 17" LCD, with the appropriate DB15-VGA adapter
- For really old 68k's, like the IIsi, that don't always play well with multisync monitors: the Macintosh Color Display, which is a fixed-frequency 13" Trinitron based monitor in a compact case with a swivel base...
