    Just overclocked my Pismo

Well, it mimics it in the sense that it performs just like the retail version. As you've probably heard before, many of these chips come from the same batches and are then tested to see how they perform. Those that work at a higher speed are binned as higher speed parts, those that don't go into...

SE/30 Damaged Pad at C3.. part at Y1?

All those caps are just bulk bypass caps for the various power supply voltages. The plus side goes to the voltage rail, the non plus side of all of them goes to the ground plane. The only exception would be for a negative supply, in which case it's just the reverse, but I don't have the...

    Just overclocked my Pismo

Well, I can confirm that since I lost two of the resistors before I got my ducks in a row. Replaced those with direct shorts. But the resistors do in fact measure 9.9K, at least the ones on my boards did.

    Just overclocked my Pismo

I realize this is an old thread, but in case anyone else finds themselves tempted to try this I'd like to report at least partial success on my two machines. I've got two 400MHz pismos that I received for free (as dead) a couple of years ago, they both came alive after hard drive replacements...

    Top screws SE30.. rounded out?

Looks like you need to get yourself an Easy Out kit (just google it). You may need to look a little to get a set that are long enough to fit into the well. You could always drill them out, but that's a pain and you can damage the hole if not very careful.  If those bolts are that bad I sure hope...

Mac SE/30 not booting anymore after recapping

I would recommend a very thorough cleaning. When I had my SE/30 recapped the floppy drives no longer worked. So I washed the whole board in hot water with Simple Green followed by a complete wash and soak in 91% IPA, followed by a blow dry. Let it finish drying for another 24 hours, then fired...

Mac Plus & scsi2sd bizarro behavior.

    Are you using a V5 or a V6 scsi2sd card?

7600/120, AppleVision 1710, and Other Goodies

I have both a 132mhz and 200 MHz 604 cards you can have for shipping, although i’d Hold out for a G3. 7600 is a great machine, mine has been in continuous operation since new. I use it on my workbench to test all sorts of stuff for other machines. It’s bullet proof and the perfect bridge machine...

New Accelerator for Apple II-series soon available!

Nope, 2E only. And not much Basic speedup according to a current Facebook thread. ROM is still accessed at 1MHz speed. You can load ROM into RAM, but it's the same RAM Prodos uses, so it's one or the other.

    SCSI2SD vs Floppy Emu

In case anyone is trying to decide between the V5 and V6 versions of the SCSI2SD, I've got both. The V5 works like a champ, seems to be bullet proof. The V6, not so much. I'm using the V5 in an SE/30, but have had it in other machines, an LC575 and PM7600, and never had a hiccup. The V6 is very...

New Accelerator for Apple II-series soon available!

You have to check stock daily. The last batch went up a little over a week ago. I've got a 1Meg version headed my way, last reported in Queens. When this last batch (I think his third) went up there were four 512Ks and four 1Megs. The 1Megs seem to go first, but they were all sold within 3 days...

    Help Identifying Capacitor

I just recently did mine, my list is on my Digikey account, I'll retrieve that and send it to you. As most others have done I uprated where I could to 105C parts and higher voltage levels to reduce the parts variety a little. Charlie

    Help Identifying Capacitor

Google is your friend. The top number on the side is the date code, below that is the voltage rating, below that the part number, MKT HO 370 PH, which comes back with a bunch of hits, including the following: Metallized polyester film capacitors MKT 370/371/372/373 - Farnell

    Help Identifying Capacitor

Unfortunately, given there's no detailed documentation for that board out in the wild (that I can find), you've got the best available source right there. The part itself. Do Google searches on the numbers that could be part numbers, should hit on a spec sheet. Then find that or an equivalent at...

    SE/30 Start-up time

I believe it was added with System 8.5 or 8.6. It's there in 9, not there in 8.1.  So Rominator is the only way for the older machines that I'm aware of. With '040 machines you're pretty much out of luck.

    LC575 Analog Board failure

Thank you techknight, I'll pull that today and check it out. Sure wish Apple would release schematics for this stuff.  By the way, anyone interested in CRT monitors should check out "https://www.repairfaq.org/REPAIR/F_monfaq.html".Really good info. Between that and pulling all the data sheets...

    LC575 Analog Board failure

Hi all. Was wondering if anyone has ever made the mistake of powering up one of these puppies leaving the anode cap disconnected by mistake? I did this recently following a recap. Powered it up for the first time, computer booted and made all the right noises but display was dark. After thinking...

    ATA PCI Card for 9600-Recommendations?

Not a whole lot cheaper but headgap.com has what looks like that ACard 133 for $50 and free shipping. Not associated with headgap in any way

    Ethernet CS II issues

Just thought I'd throw out another possibility, though a wild shot. Does the 5400 board use appreciably less power than the original? I'm fighting a similar issue on an LC575 (but don't have mo-bo's to swap). Looked at the 5V during power up with and without the comm slot card installed. Noticed...
