    I am happy to report that after a couple of months of planning and research, I've managed to replace the caps in an old Classic II. I soldered the new caps on last night, plopped the logic board back in, turned it on, and it actually worked. I'm floored. (We'll see if I did a good enough job...

    Interesting. You removed your caps without an iron at all? Impressive... and ballsy. I'd be afraid of being one of those pad ripping types... I guess it's all in your technique? I'm about to recap a Classic II...
