Very likely the old lubricant is dried and gummed up. There are a number of good Youtube videos on how to clean and relubricate these drives. Pretty easy to do, and doesn't require much beyond some q-tips and lubricant you can get at a hardware store.

I sent a note last night with my Paypal confirmation and got this back:
Dear Sir.
Thank you for your order. Now VRM is in stock and will ship out
in order of order. Back order has been many qyt. , so please wait
a moment.

So, hopefully things are moving along...
I have my Airtalks with one end connected to my Shiva Fastpath. I had to tweak multicasting settings on the FP, but once that was done, everything works as expected with Ethernet bridging.
I made my order, and got the Paypal ack of payment, but not heard anything else. Anyone know about how long it takes to receive the product after ordering? I'm not in a rush, just curious.
Ordered - thanks!
This is as much as a future-proof as anything else, since who knows when more will be available. I've not had a stock VRM ever fail, but I have one cube with a CPU upgrade, and this will make me feel better.
I sent trag the Apple specific ROM chip from the RAID card so he could dump the contents. If that's the chip you are talking about, you'll need to get ahold of him...
I do have A/UX media, this image would must make it easier, especially combining how picky A/UX is with CDROM drives, and my Apple drives needing recapping, this just seems a lot cleaner...
The adapter looks like could be a 25pin to narrow SCSI adapter, but that means it would have nothing do do with the 8-pin -> 25 pin cable except fit on it physically.
Thanks - I was blanking on the name, and on my phone so it was not convenient to go out and look up his name.
Apparently I've been lanquishing over keeping up with developments in the Lisa world. Time to get my Lisalist subscription figured out and back up and running....
This is great and needed work, so don't take this the wrong way, but if you want to be a hero to the Lisa community, come up with a replacement backplane board to replace all of the ones that were destroyed by battery failure.
I think the Sigma Seven guy made these, so maybe that's enough, but...
I also have a bombed logic board (and maybe still the CPU board) and would be happy to pull components.
I have basically all the internal parts for ANS machines if anyone needs anything. The chassis and external plastics have been claimed, but I salvaged the rest. The power supplies show some...
I have no pictures, but the G4 iMacs seem to be very prone to being dust hogs. I could weave sweaters out of some of the dust bunnies I've pulled out of those things.
