Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Ohhhhhh dammit... you're so right!
Received my adapter from Bolle today, modded my Asanté NIC and fired up my workhorse IIci to get everything prepared for the SE/30.... but it gave me quite some troubles for about 2hrs (Couldn't find the SCSI2SD, Floppy drive failed and needed to be...
Erm, it's not really an error. It's the-right-software-on-the-wrong-system behaviour ;-)
Babysteps, my firends, babysteps. Like said before, just leave the INIT alone for now. As long it's not completely understood/patched it won't get you anywhere.
Aditionally, it's not neccessary for now...
It indeed is. They officially shared the the Control Panel and INIT.
I've documented that in the original thread which... oh my. We're all doomed! :-D
Well, the CP's resources are full of mentions of "Mobius" and especially "Speedster".... I assume (aka 'WAG)' at one point MicroMac bought...
Well, the extremely verbose (NOT!) former product page @ http://www.micromac.com/products/carrera040.html says "...and the Carrera040 for the Macintosh IIcx and IIx installs with an adapter that plugs into the CPU socket." - I was not able to find any other trace of this anywhere :-/ That...
Sniff... I still miss that little thread  It's like loosing a good friend ;-) (Well, at least a valuable notebook)
Yes, while Bolle will provide the GAL(s) he already "MicroMac'ed" it, i.e. no GAL, pads bridged accordingly [he beat me posting that by some seconds ;-) ].... if needed I...
Hey all,
Yes, what I did was tricking the machine detection routine within the control panel. So no IWishIWere needed... which wouldn't make sense anyhow, because if we ever manage to patch the Carrera INIT, too (which inits the C040 before anything else), IWIW would be too late to fake the...
Bump ;-)
While cory and bunsen seem to have read my plea for reactivating the mentioned thread, it's still dead, Dodo, vanished, Kaputt... :'-(
It was sort of documentation so it's heavily missed.
The previous URL...
Mhh, there's just blank PCB and no parts on the front of my display - the metal bezel clamps the front to the while plastic frame behind it...
So just folding down the display, stripped from everything it looks like the picture below.
I've made the back-light into a "front-light", i.e. below...
Woohoo - thanks a lot, techknight! :approve: That's a very good and absolutely comprehensible explanation!
Will press very gently - let's see how I'll manage to do that on the back of the panel while checking the front [:I] ]'>
Cheers, Axel
Hello you wonderful bunch of Mac'ians!
While my my "other Mac project" is currently on-hold I dived into a PB140 restoration... initially it went quite smooth -thanks to the great videos of Ferrix97 (Grazie mille, mio eroe!)- replaced the fuse, reanimated hard-drive and recapped the...
Indeed ;) As this auction is already history and Nubus/System 7-9 are more a less a nightmare when it comes to bare-metal reverse engineering, I'd like to use your nice comment as a shameless plug to make you guys even more aware about my obsession^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h special interest: If you...
