Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
For future readers of this thread.... I wasn't able to get the xmega-pdi-pi2 programmer to work with my ATxmega128a3. It threw an error while trying to program that there was a mismatch at address 212 :-(
I'm giving up on the pi method, and ordered the Olimex AVR-ISP-MK2 :-) I've got too...
I ordered a few of these boards to check out. Do you have any suggestions for a low cost programmer? It looks to me that the Pocket AVR programmer from sparkfun should work. Am I missing anything major?

Or, it appears I might be able to just use the GPIO...
They're back in stock!!!

Promo code for my 68kmla buddies through Sunday: THEYREBACK for $10 off.
Woohoo!!! It works! It took a little fiddling to get things working. After I cut off the LEDs, things seemed to work much better. But, I'm not sure if that's because of the LEDs, or because of something else I did. Ultimately, the LEDs don't matter, so I'd recommend anyone who uses this in the...
Making some progress on Ethernet support! Its turning out to be much more complex than I originally hoped. The original RaSCSI code didn't have "Reselection" capability, which the Nuvolink SC uses. RaSCSI was developed assuming that the host would ALWAYS initiate the communication. That doesn't...
One step closer to working Ethernet! Today RaSCSI was able to receive packets from the Mac and write them to a Linux tap device :-)
Traffic still doesn't go the other way, so the overall function is FAR from usable, but this made me happy! :-D
Happy Sunday everyone!
I took the plunge and ordered some from JLCPCB tonight! Thank you again for the feedback @BadGoldEagle
I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes by calling it a mAcTX! Its such a cool name, I wanted to tag along :-)
Holy cow! Thank you for the awesome feedback. I sincerely appreciate it!
I should probably switch to an ATX 24pin. I originally did that for board space, but in hindsight, its probably better to use the newer plug.
I downloaded the 22 pin header from Mouser. I'm going to re-visit those...
Thanks @BadGoldEagle!!
I've researched a bit, and it does appear that the Quadra 840av definitely has a different pinout than the Q900.
The wire colors match this diagram:
I generated a PDF of the schematic, if that makes things easier for you to look at.
Thanks again!!!
Hi all! There's some really cool stuff going on in this forum with power supply conversions to use an ATX PSU to replace a failing vintage Mac PSU. I'm curious if anyone has made a nice adapter board for the Quadra 840av power supply?
There's lots of good information in this thread to start...
I usually start with www.macintoshrepository.org and www.macintoshgarden.org.
If you find a .toast file, you just need to rename it to .iso, and it should work fine with RaSCSI
There is a utility for the RaSCSI that I THINK allows it to directly clone a SCSI drive to an image. That might be an option for the future, if you don’t mind a little experimentation.
Disclaimer: you need a FULLSPEC board, which I think you have. Also, I’ve never tried this myself. Just seen...
