I have a 3400c that seems dead. It started when I'd boot it up and there was the typical white screen, but without the cursor. It never moved past there. Now it won't boot or get power at all. No chime or anything. There's a new PRAM battery in it so I don't think that's the problem. Maybe the...
By the way, I ave some sticks of ram that I know are 60ns, but the others I’m unsure of. Is it ok to mix 60ns and 70ns ram together?
i don’t think there’s even a way to know if it’s 60ns or 70ns unless it’s clearly marked on the chip. And it’s not on all of them except the ones I got from Mac...
I think this is actually a 16mb ram card. I just noticed that at the top it lists the part number as KTA-pb3400/16. What confused me is at the bottom where it says PB3400/32. So it's probably working right.
I'm looking on Ebay and it's hard to narrow down what to look for. When I type 'Mac Floppy drive' I only get a few results. Maybe I should post something in the Trade forum...
For some reason both of the 9600 machines I have have floppy drives that aren't working so well. They give me issues with formatting and reading diskettes all the time. Is there a direct replacement for them that are good, HIGH QUALITY floppy drives? I'm not sure that these are different than...
Let me get in a bonus question: I've always wanted to be able to control the volume from a couple keys like I can on my Mac Pro keyboards. I don't think the F keys are in use on a Mac by default, but correct me if I'm wrong. Is there any way to set that up without having to install some keyboard...
So Sound, and Monitors, then they combined them into Sound & Monitors totaling 3 different ones?
I'm running an audio interface and I'm required to use the Sound control panel located in the Extras folder. It's the only way to select it and get system audio running through it. If I remove...
The Monitors & Sound control panel has a volume control inside of it. Fair enough. But there is also another little application in HD - Extras called Sound. It's here that I can select if I'm using an additional audio card, as well as adjust the output volume. I'm not sure what the...
I'm looking for a suitable CF adapter and a card. I posted in another thread about the particular adapter that's been confirmed working being out of stock.
I remember having a bit of trouble getting some hard drives to boot that were not Apple-branded drives on my Powermac machines. I'm going to guess the same thing rings true for a Powerbook 3400. There's a stock 2GB drive in it that I want to replace with something bigger and quieter. Are there...
I'm going to investigate once these machines are in my hands. I bought a separate 32mb card and will install it into one of the machines. The other one comes with a 32mb card installed, but I was told it only shows up as 32mb total, so I'll report back.
Also, I'm looking to replace the stock...
These machines aren;t actually in my possession, it's just what I've been told. For example, if there is a 32mb extra card installed, the system info will say 32mb is installed, when I would think it should be 48mb. Maybe the RAM cards don't say the amount of memory that's on the card, but the...
