    FTP question on resource forks: OS7 <-> OS9.2.2 <-> OSX10.11

    I forgot to mention, the audio editor I have installed is Alchemy v3 in OS7.1. None of the file associations in Finder for the transferred sound files are correct, they both show up as document type, but this is not so cruical since I am able to open the WAV files from within Alchemy. Another...

    FTP question on resource forks: OS7 <-> OS9.2.2 <-> OSX10.11

    Finally updating to OpenTransport 1.1.2 solved it. I am able to open WAV files, but not AIFF files.

    FTP and OS7.6

    I just tried the FTP connection with system 7.5.3 on my ColorClassic and the OSX10.11 iMac. I read somewhere that there was a difference in compatibility taking place between OS7.5 and 7.6 wrt FTP. Could my FTP problems with transferring .AIF and .WAVE files be made easier with upgrading to...

    FTP question on resource forks: OS7 <-> OS9.2.2 <-> OSX10.11

    I have tried with many different files now but I am not able to transfer uncompressed, readable .AIF files from the iMac to the SE/30. Are you able to do it?

    The Definitive Guide to Connecting your SE/30

    Crutch, Whenever you are at the SE/30: are you able to choose a .AIF file on the SE/30, transfer it to the Mojave computer, then send it back to the SE/30 and still be able to play it? I might perhaps just have a bad FTP configuration.

    The Definitive Guide to Connecting your SE/30

    I have transferred an .AIF file from a OS7.1 SE/30 to my OSX10.11 iMac via FTP without problems, but when I try to FTP the (unaltered) file back from the iMac to the SE/30 it is not successfull (it shows up as zero bytes in the SE/30). An idea then is to use a bridge computer.eg. a G4 running...

    FTP question on resource forks: OS7 <-> OS9.2.2 <-> OSX10.11

    If I have a working .AIF file on my SE/30 running OS7.1 and if I send this from SE/30 to an intermediary OS9 G4 to an iMac OSX10.11 via FTP, then edit the .AIF on this iMac in an audio editor, then save it still as an .AIF file and transfer it back to the SE/30 (via the intermediate OS9...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    Perhaps that could be a solution. Would the audio files be ok going from SE/30 to G4 to the iMac and then back again and still work in the SE/30 with the resource forks intact? I still have my ca 2002 G4 running OS9.2.2. How would that work?

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    Midi and audio - very different things.. it is the audio files that are interesting to work on with different systems. Another thought would be to make a dual boot iMac with an old and a new version of OSX on it, using the old version when I wanted to work with OS7 files and FTP. But my 2011...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    The thing is that I want to process the soundfiles on my modern OSX 10.11 computer before I transfer them back to the SE/30, so I guess the resource forks of the audio files will be damaged :-/ . I was given the advice that Netpresenz could do this, but reading his advice a little more in...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    I see. Actually I cant say that it is working 100%: When I write files from the iMac OSX10.11 to the SE/30 the files comes out as 0 bytes/corrupted on the SE/30. It reminds me when I used a zip drive instead of the FTP connection (the files resource fork is lost?) to transfer files between the...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    Thanks Johnnya, I suspected it could be something like that - it was next on my to-do list  [;)] But then I found out it actually it works using just  MacTCP so I might just keep that for the moment. And the Asante card also works via ethernet cable directly to my high speed router (Dlink...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    v1.1 was unsuccessful - it gave an address error during installation. Having another look at v1.3 on my OS9.2.2 Mac this is what the file "open_transport_1.3_gm.sit" from MacintoshGarden "unsits" to (see picture) on my G4: Could someone please explain how to proceed when installing this on my...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    I think the OpenTransport 1.3 in MacintoshGarden is not working, others have had the same problem. The installation stops and asks for floppy disks, but there are no disk images there to make floppys from.. I found a copy of OpenTransport 1.1b9 version that I can try.

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    Hi, the wireless WIFI bridge connection is now working - using half-duplex. When I try to login from Firefox on my iMac, as anonymous, I get a "530 login failed (-5019)". I can see on the SE30 in the Netpresenz log window that the SE/30 records the failed login attempts, so some communication is...

    Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

    Hi, I have a recapped SE/30 with an ethernetcard installed with driver. Then I am using a Vonets VM300 Wifi-bridge connected to the ethernetconnector from the SE/30, which is configured and connects to my WIFI-router. When I connect the Vonets to the Asante card I get a steady green light on the...

    Adding Wi-Fi to my Mac SE/30

    @ants Just a small report from me so far :-) : I got it working as a WIFI bridge on my OSX iMac. It is really very simple: I used an antistatic wristband to be sure, just mount one of the the antennas to the board and plug in the wires, then plug Ethernet and usb cables from the VM300 into the...

    Adding Wi-Fi to my Mac SE/30

    I will try to install the Vonets in my SE/30 now. As far as I understand the Vonets is able to connect to modern highspeed WIFI routers via wireless, but I have understood that the old Asante Ethernet card in the E/30 is not able to connect to the modern fast WIFI routers via cable, but requires...
