Cool! So can I use a serial printer cable to connect the two SE/30s and then install the local talk bridge extension on the ethernet mac and everything will be fine? What about TCP/IP on the mac without the ethernet, how will I get internet connection?
Thanks for the many answers! I found this with some pics of the hardware in it:

I did not really understand, why the powerbook was needed as an intermediate node in this example.
I have two SE/30s, one with a working Asante Ethernet Card. So...
No I have not. I know, that 64 MB on Bank A only are not supposed to work but with the amazon simms I advertised further up in this thread it worked on both my SE/30s.
Just one more question: What kind of hardware would I need on the SE side in order to make a local talk connection to the A2Server? Would like to test that, too.
Just my two cents:
After having used PC Exchange, use resedit on the Mac in order to get around the „the application cannot be found“ error. You can edit the resource fork of the file in question and thereby apply the correct creator application name.
If you want to use the modern mac to...
I always connect the flathead screwdriver with a jumper cable to the heater near the thermostat, where there is a spot without paint and just bare metal. I hope, that is ok, too?
Arggh, the package to Canada came back twice because of corona related delivery problems. I think it did not even leave Germany. Refunded the Canadian, readvertised it on the bay and sold it again, this time to Northern France. I wonder if it was someone from this forum?
Just pull the video board gently towards the rear side of the Mac and maybe do a tiny bit of side wiggling while pulling in order to pull it in several little "mini" steps.
In fact I remove it as a habbit almost every time I do something in the HDD- and floppy drive connector cable area.
I...
Sorry bibilit, yes I meant the keyboard. I did a test last night with an old "Apple Design Keyboard", Vanish and boiling water. Let all plastic parts of the keyboard in it for three hours after the toothbrush treatment (another 2 hours, gosh, that's really work) and I know, had no sunlight. It...
That depends on, if your Mac came into 2020 by himself. If you would lose pvram battery supply now and had to reset the clock, you are thrown back to the 20th century. Even if you simulate new year‘s eve 2019, let the Mac enter 2020 by himself and then try to switch to the now it will not work...
I have two SE/30 and recently equipped both of them with 64 MB from this source: https://www.amazon.com/-/de/gp/product/B00FAYV3NO
I found the price reasonable and with more than 32 MB you can add a nice ram disk, so I can recommend the 64 MB.
Boot time has increased by a few seconds but not...
Fascinating story and many thanks for sharing. It's like a TV show and I am longing for more! I am even considering on sharing it with my wife (she is allowed to tell me the latest stuff from her boxer doggies and in return I can share things from the Classic Mac front).
Waiting for the next...
OK, swapping the ROM would really be interesting, but that has plastic clips, too, and I hate to fiddle around with this 30+ y old stuff.
Elbaroni's suggestion hit the nail. Just bootet with the shift key and - bam, there it was. Feel a bit stupid now. I thought, that the extensions would come...
Thanks for the hint. I google and found this: https://happymacs.wordpress.com/2015/01/30/speed-up-mac-os-boot-time-turn-off-ram-tests/
Tried it under (my German) Mac OS 7.5.3 but unfortunately no luck. Could it be, that this hidden option is present only in later Mac OS Versions?
I hope this question has not been asked a million times before. I know that SE/30s with larger amounts of RAM have a long startup time because of the mem check. You stare on the happy Mac and wonder, if the machine just freezed. And I know, that custom ROMs like from bigmessowires can have this...
