I attempted to reflow new solder on my $20 Classic (which I neglected up to this point because it was "broke")
I'm happy to say that the flicker is gone! It looks like a new screen.
Good info here, thanks!
Is this information relevant to the SE's, Classic's? Cold solder flyback? My Classic is messed up with this problem, well I think it is the same kind of issue. I re-soldered the pins for the display plug on the analog board (whole thing was loose) but this didn't change the vibrating screen. I...
Well I got my wireless IR mouse and it works well. I am sure the batteries are at the end of the line but it still charges and works. It even receives a signal from across the room. No drivers needed. Replacing the battery looks like a joke.
Lol woops.
What about putting the install disk 1 contents on the untitled floppy
Edit#101 Btw I probably have no good advice but I know it's not fun throwing all that work in the can
Using a plastic handled long screwdriver and some thick copper wire works fine. I had a moment where my knuckle hit the analog board of my SE (no paper cover at that moment ) and now I'm not so afraid of the CRT that much :D
I just won this mouse on ebay. Does anyone have any experience with using this? Does it use a standard ni-cad rechargeable triple-A battery? I know it has two and they are probably long deceased. I just hope it's a battery I can find since I kinda jumped the gun but always wanted a wireless ADB...
resolder every single one? Or just the one by the four plug harness? I tried heating up the 4 pin connector (with it unplugged) and still wiggles. I will try again a little longer. I noticed it looks like the screen is kinda in the water. It also has very small waves going from the bottom up...
Good evening people, I am looking for some advice on a Classic I obtained a few months back and haven't got around to exploring it. My Classic's screen "wiggles or jiggles" at the edges during disk activity. When no activity is happening, the screen shakes about 5% as much as before. I can...
eMacs are nice, my first eMac was found on the side of the road missing the clear cover. I used a green spaghetti strainer with duct tape to cover the huge hole. I was too poor to afford a newer mac and it served great for a few years. Had 2 since and another a family member uses everyday...
I'm gonna see if my 20GB HD from my Lombard G3 will work in it since it sits dormant in a storage bin. Then gotta try Soundjam and turn the bass up hoping the speakers don't fall apart! Finding 128MB module seems like it might be NOT fun but glad to at least have 64
