What IDE adapters are you using?

That's what I thought as well but unfortunately the CF card adapter isn't working for me. It does play well in my iBook G3 clamshell, though. The SD to IDE adapter should be good enough since these machines aren't exactly powerful.

What IDE adapters are you using?

I used the default jumper when it arrived. I'll try removing the jumper and see if that works. I prefer something that's inside the PowerBook but if all else fails I might just buy a PCMCIA card reader. On a different note, what SD to IDE adapter/s are you using?

Thanks for the tip! However, I don't have a CD drive. Anything else I should be considering?

What IDE adapters are you using?

I used a generic Compact Flash to IDE adapter but it doesn't work in my PowerBook 3400c. What adapters are you using in your pre-G3 PowerBooks? Have yet to try an mSATA to IDE adapter.

Thanks! In the absence of a CF card reader in the PCMCIA slot, would my method work?

Best way to install Mac OS 8.6 on a PowerBook 3400c

I made a virtual machine using SheepSaver and installed Mac OS 8.6 (Sawtooth AGP version). I will restore the virtual disk to a CF card and put that into a PowerBook 3400c. In theory it should work. Has anyone done the same and verified that it works on the same or similar machine?

Tips for Upgrading a Mac mini G4 for Mac OS 9 Use

Generic one from China with the JM20330 controller. I didn’t purchase it off of Amazon but it’s most likely the same as those that sell for around USD 13.

Tips for Upgrading a Mac mini G4 for Mac OS 9 Use

Does your mSATA SSD in those el cheapo adapters overheat? My Mac Mini G4 sleeps (and eventually shuts down) after getting too warm.

Mac Mini G4 turning off after 10 minutes

I am having similar issues with my rev 1 Mac Mini G4. I recently replaced the stock hard drive with an mSATA SSD inside one of those el cheapo mSATA to IDE adapters that everyone else is using. The Mac Mini gets warm, fan revs up to maximum from what I can tell and after a few minutes it goes to...

SE/30 Logic Board and Analog Board Recapped, Boot Chime Quickly Followed By Death Chime, Nothing Shows On Screen

Tried swapping out RAM sticks and only testing four SIMMs at a time but it didn't work. I also submerged the board in vinegar, washed it soap and distilled water, submerged again in IPA then air dried plus compressed air but still no dice.

SE/30 Logic Board and Analog Board Recapped, Boot Chime Quickly Followed By Death Chime, Nothing Shows On Screen

Turns out the brightness was turned down. When I turned it up I got this Simasimac pattern. If the Dead Mac Scrolls is to be followed the problem is the ROM?

    Macintosh Logo Emblem Needed

I destroyed removing mine from my SE/30. Got a SE front bezel from Apple Rescue of Denver and transferred the emblem to my SE/30. Not sure if the size is compatible, though.

SE/30 Logic Board and Analog Board Recapped, Boot Chime Quickly Followed By Death Chime, Nothing Shows On Screen

Hi all! I got my SE/30 two years ago and I've been working on and off it since then. When I got this unit it would boot chime to the missing floppy icon. The battery wasn't bombed but there was some leaking cap juice which I've cleaned up. I recently recapped the logic and analog boards. I've...
