I'm assuming this is a Hack. I upgraded from my original Core Duo Mac to a Core 2 Duo Mac so I could upgrade to Lion an upgrade to ICloud.
I gave the Mac to a girlfriend for casual use, but she's using it in a closed network, and they won't let her on the Internet because Snow Leopard is no...
Found this extremely fascinating. Unlike the original Shareholder's meeting videos we've all seen, what follows is a complete demonstration of the Mac much like what we see at Apple product announcements today. I especially love the discussion about the video out capabilities and the custom...
Anybody used the Macintosh Floppy EMU?
http://www.bigmessowires.com/macintosh-floppy-emu/
This looks like the best option for solid state Mac floppy disk replacement I've seen in years, especially to transfer disk images with a modern Mac without an intermediate step.
Pretty funny ad. I love the clip of analogue manager George Crow who chooses to clear his voice just after he says "it had to be very reliable because we didn't want our customers to ever have to worry about it failing" LOL either he was a horrible manager, or this is one of the most ironic...
Nice colorful iMac 128K (easy folks, the damage has been done, just enjoy it). I'm guessing this thing at one point had a painted blue mouse. Maybe even a green external drive. Funny thing is, I saw the yellow keyboard and wondered at first why they didn't paint it too!
Aside from the curiosity...
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what folks on the forum consider the successor to the "Outrigger" G3 desktop, or if it marked the end of the line for the traditional desktop family form factor.
The iMac sort of has taken the place of the traditional desktop PC box for Apple, even though...
I just picked up an FDHD external floppy disk manual. The part number is 030-1507-A and copyright 1989. Typically by this time, most first edition Apple manuals were issued initially with a "-A" suffix, so with a 1989 copyright date, I'm assuming this is the case as well, as I believe this drive...
I know this has come up before, but I wanted to just go over it again prior to my impending move.
Basically, I am moving into a smaller transitional space which will not accommodate my "Mac room". This could last up to a year or longer depending on where I move next. My solution was to rent a...
Lot's of great pictures. I like the modern approach to documenting the un-boxing we see for all new Apple products today ... did anybody ever think of doing this in 1984?

Saw this incredibly detailed auction on eBay for a 128K manufactured the week of the SuperBowl. Nice detailed pictures of the early differences from later units. But don't worry Anonymous Freak, yours is still the earliest known production Macintosh manufactured! :beige...
Thought this auction for the Appleline and Apple Cluster Controller was interesting. It's more information than I think I've ever found about them in any one place.

I've seen this Tops repeater before, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170532417443
But this is the first I have seen of this Tops Flashbox (I think), http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170532390654
770Kbps on an AppleTalk network! Wow! Now why wouldn't...
I'm almost tempted to bid for this, if I didn't already have several hundred new DS 800K disks which are likely much more reliable. I probably would if they were Apple-branded disks (which are exactly the same as Sony disks, only in beige)...
Appears to make it legal to break software encryption on old software.

Anybody know anything about this drive? Has to be one of the ugliest peripherals for the Mac I've ever seen. Would hate to see the computer this would match. The metal case seems like expensive overkill, but perhaps that was a big deal in the 80s when PCs were made out of metal in comparison to...
Anybody have any experience with a Paradise 10 or 20 hard disk drive from the mid-80s? Interesting eBay auction recently included one:

There's very little detail about it, and none of the pictures appear to show it plugged in...
Question about DataSpace DS800 and HabaDisk double-sided drives. Where there others?
I can find very little about the DataSpace DS800. And nothing about the HabaDisk 800K. What I did find, this article from an 11/25/85 issue of InfoWorld, seems to imply that this double-sided 800K drive would...
