Reverse Engineering the Macintosh LC III Logicboard

Naive question : are the Macintosh LC III chips easy to source ? I suppose that adb chips for instance are harder because apple specific but what about the others ?

    TashTalk: Single-Chip LocalTalk Interface

Hi, What about using a simple STM32 with DMA : you can get an infinite (well limited by RAM of course) buffer. It would also work as a single chip thing and some have usb hardware so that you can emulate a serial port over usb and get quick transfer speed. :) Well this is true with many other...

Looking for GBMac version 1.3.1 - offering a 500$ reward (via paypal) to anyone who can archive/upload it

I don't know if it will help but I think that the mail address PBC03243@niftyserve.or.jp does not bounce back.

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

I was not aware of that indeed. I just had a quick look. If I understand well the ENET driver is not a hardware driver but communicates directly with the hardware drivers. If I understand well this sums up as : Mac TCP -> ENET driver -> Nuvotech driver -> SCSI -> 68net Any...

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

You're right @cheesestraws ! The fact that you see LAN on the screenshot is the fact that each SCSI device has a type https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCSI_Peripheral_Device_Type and that's what SCSI Probe checks. But it does not mean mac os will support this device out of the box :)

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

A little post to keep you updated. I've been busy with work and personal time recently but here is a quick update. I have a few things to fix for rev B, mostly things around USB that prevented DFU to work correctly. But nothing hard to fix and that prevents me to work on the software side. The...

    Strange SE/30 Simasimac

Did you check the address bus lines conductivity between the cpu and the glu chip ? I had a similar issue and it was linked to this : https://ronangaillard.github.io/posts/my-mac-se30-is-back-alive/

    StufIt as a service

Hey all, I just found about this : http://restuff.jcs.org It’s an incredible project that automatically converts StuffIt version 4 & 5 archives to a format readable in StuffIt 3. This should be super useful for périple who can’t migrate to system 7. Enjoy ! (and sorry if it had already...

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

That makes perfect sense. Any ideas of what's the name of the HDI-30 connector ? I can't find it on DK. Maybe it has another name ?

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

What do you mean by good enough ? What are the downsides of cheap adapters apart from hot unplugging ? :)   I see your point. Do you know if any of the good connectors you suggest are still on production ? :)   Very good idea ! :D   Thanks a lot for your support !  :)   Yes I...

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

    I did not even notice :p  So I guess designing a cheap (< $10) HD30  to DB25 could be a good idea :)

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

I did not know about that, nice ! I wonder if designing one would be worth it ?  Pros :  - fast to design - cheaper (especially because the one you suggest does not cheap to EU) If I can't find one to buy on ebay I'll do this little project I think :)

68net - a modern SCSI to Ethernet board

You mean Powerbook 190 right ? I just bought a powerbook 150 so I should be able to test and design an adapter for this connector :p
