My new Apple ///....and might need some ADT Pro help

But what krye is describing is using an Apple II to write an Apple /// format diskette to use in booting the Apple ///. I believe he was also attempting to bootstrap the Apple /// version of ADT Pro on the Apple ///. He was running into issues making the connection from the host once the serial...

My new Apple ///....and might need some ADT Pro help

On the Apple II you can flip the jumper on the super serial card to switch between "terminal" and "modem". You get no such favors on the Apple ///.

My new Apple ///....and might need some ADT Pro help

I forget if my /// needed a null modem cable or straight through. Have you tried both?

Apple ][ Europlus Rebuild (Project Thread with Images)

My TRS-80 Model III did this minutes after I had replaced the RAM and got it all working again. The office smelled for a week.

Macintosh 12" RGB CRT to LCD conversion

I thought you may ditch the rear bucket and build the LCD entirely into the front bezel. One of these days I'll hack my dream Monolithic Compact Mac hack. One that looks "normal" from the front but is only an inch or two deep.

    IIx ROM/RAM schematic

I thought that svg would scale cleanly in your favorite image viewer (it's vector, after all).

    Shipping aio units, best way?

I have shipped a ton of them using a Uhaul small box inside of a Uhaul medium box. Both boxes together cost maybe $2.50. Like uniserver said, I wrap the compact unit in bubble wrap and put it snugly inside the small box. The sealed, small box then gets nested into the medium box where there is...

    Unity's latest

The Xerox "wax" printer sounds like a Phaser which was a printer they bought from Tektronix in the 1990s. They were actually pretty cool.

    De-yellowing Compact Mac Plastics

I've done it similar to Lumpy with 20 Volume Developer I get from the beauty supply store in gallon jugs. I mix one gallon developer with maybe eight gallons of hot water and a couple of scoops of oxyclean powder (I mix it in the hot water jug and shake to dissolve) all in a clear, plastic tub...

    Performa 6116 does not start

I think it would be like bringing a 1976 CB750 into a modern Honda shop - they would say they don't work on models that old and you'll need to find an independent.

    Portable Stuck In Reboot Loop

You can try disconnecting the hard drive to see if it's too much of a power draw on a weak system. I've seen that before.

    a decent electric solder sucker

The top one looks very similar to my Hakko 808 but in white. The biggest thing I would check when buying one is how easy it is to get the expendable parts. You'll need to change tips, filters, etc on a semi-regular basis.

    Simm Saver 30

I think you would need to mount the logic board externally. ;)

Compact Frame Restoration (After a Maxel-Massacare)

I always find that the dishwasher always makes a bigger mess than it cleans up. I'd suggest warm water and a toothbrush. Blow it out well with compressed air afterward. It will work much better than the dishwasher and probably take less time too.

Heh - because it has webbed feet, right? A real puddle jumper.

    haplain's never-ending quest

This is pretty rad - I had no idea Apple ever toyed with putting dual G4s into a portable. I don't think I've ever even heard rumor of it before.
