Was working on recapping an SE/30 and the far left side cap had created a little bit of corrosion round it's leads and a nearby part noted as Q3, looks like a tiny voltage regulator. It just fell off when cleaning with a q-tip, and now I need a replacement. Pad took a while to clean up, but they...
Hi LaPorta, if I use the BlueSCSI as a backup for files on a HD, can I use those files again on a HD, optical, Zip, or any other older spinning rust machine? Thanks.
While SCSI probe sees the drive, can't seem to get it on the desktop or anything. How/what program can I use to get the HD up? I fear I may need to re-initialize and lose any programs on it. Thanks.
I recently was getting a pair of SE's running and found that when plugged in, the SE wouldn't come on, turned out to be a bad cable. May want to check that with a different one to see if that helps.
I did read a post here about trying to back up original files onto a BlueSCSI, so is it as easy as plugging in the BlueSCSI and dropping the files onto the BlueSCSI drive? And can I run then after doing that directly from the BlueSCSI? Thanks!
Thanks guys, LaPorta, I think I should be OK to use this as a short time solution to move native files around. And Mike, good to know, I should only copy the System 7 image files, not the System 7 already on the HD, correct?
Have an SE with a working drive that has the OS (7.0.1) and a bunch of software that I want to keep and archive onto a zip drive. The System 7 folder has a System 7 disk image folder with image files, would I just use that to install the System 7 onto another mac? Was thinking of just copying...
Thanks guys, I finished the AB recap, and there is no more "wobble", definitely the crt is had a lot of hours on it so I may do a swap with an SE. Will also need to get the memory as I have added 16 meg to the 4 meg, but am showing only 8 meg. As the HD won't boot but shows up on disk first aid...
Can't quite get that cover off to access the floppy/cd drives. I hear there is a pdf manual for the 520, 550, 575, anyone have a copy of it, or know how to get that cover off? I need access to the floppy to refurb it. Thanks!
