Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Which ADCs were you planning on using? I believe that most of the serial ones use either SPI or I²C rather than what would be considered as typical computer "serial" (RS232). I would be very surprised if you could find one that would communicate directly with the differential RS422 port on a...
I don't have a problem with people posting links to do a price check. It's the spate of recent posts that are along the lines of "Look at this... a for . This seller must be crazy or on drugs! What an idiot!" that we've had recently that I'm trying to cut down on.
The 68kMLA Forum Rules have been updated today, and the main addition is this clause:
The number of threads we've had recently that serve no purpose other than to bash eBay sellers for either not knowing much about the item they're selling or for pricing it too high is simply unacceptable...
Just a heads up that you have to be careful with the partitioning on the early iMacs. Due to a ROM limitation, they'll only recognise a System Folder that is physically within the first 6GB (IIRC, it could be 8GB or some value around that) of the hard disk. Hence why the disk is usually...
I haven't seen any – at least none that have a plug-in for phpBB 3. I would guess a reCAPTCHA plug-in will be developed before too long, but until then I'll just keep purging the member list occasionally.
Just as an update to this situation. We're on a new server as of last night, so hopefully things will be a little speedier from now on. I appreciate everyone's patience in this matter, trust me, it's been as annoying for me as it has been for all of you guys! I'll keep an eye on things, but...
Captain Z used to have a fair amount of information about the PowerExpress machines on his website. It seems to be down at the moment, but it's on Archive.org:

There is also some information on the DigiBarn website...
Since we've upgraded to phpBB 3, the number of spam account registrations has increased dramatically. This is due to the fact that the reCAPTCHA plug-in we used isn't compatible with phpBB3. Because of this I am going to be purging the member list fairly regularly to keep the spam accounts at...
No, it's not possible – at least not without major rewriting of phpBB2 (which, after a few years of work, would probably give you something very like phpBB3). The systems use a completely different database structures.
I've activated the subsilver2 theme. Sorry that it took so long, but it's not as simple as just "clicking a button". I had to make a few customisations (site logo, menu, removing postcount etc), and I simply haven't had time over the last few days... so sue me for actually having a life outside...
Well, since we have custom BBCode abilities on the forums, I thought I'd test it by adding some shortcuts to the MLA Wiki. You should be able to link to any page on the Wiki. Thoughts?

I believe that's the idea! All the information in the right hand bar is extra information that typically just gets in the way of the actual content of the posts – well, aside from the poster's username! But that is listed on the left hand side at the top of the post as well.
I believe it kills the validity of the code, since the target="_blank" attribute isn't part of the XHTML standard – hence it wasn't included in phpBB3 by default. Because of that, it's kind of gone out of fashion in modern site coding. To be honest, I always hold command when clicking a link (to...
