Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Yeah, of course. The only stipulation is we would ask that you keep personal content to your user page and sub-pages thereof. Aside from that, you can put anything up you want.
So? I spend a significant amount of time browsing on a netbook. Your signature takes up HALF my screen. Seriously, don't you think that's too long? Although it's no longer really my place to enforce it, I bring your attention to The Rules on this matter:
So, the moral of the story is keep it to...
Must have changed with the 3.0.6 update. However, 255 characters seems more than enough to me. Not sure why it was ever 500. Anyway, not my place to change it now [:o)] ]'>
There wasn't a topic about this because, honestly, it's not that big a deal. I've got other things on my plate, so I've decided to step back from being an admin here. Dana (mania) also made a similar decision recently with her moderation status. These things happen. People come and go from...
Erm, because the first place winner from the 'Challenge was posted about on Gizmodo yesterday. Doesn't seem like a strange reason to revive the thread to me!
Congrats equant [:)] ]'>
Who said anything about you getting to discuss it? All changes made to the forum are discussed by the moderation team...
My personal view on the matter is that it'll probably stay disabled. If someone's comments are not worth the time it takes to go to the posting page, I doubt they're going to...
I guess you could have missed the PM pop-up window if you had a pop-up blocker enabled... it tends to get blocked by them. However, the search box has always been there [:o)] ]'>
At a guess, the video out board/harness from a Quadra 630 might work... since a Q630 board works in a CC as well (with a bit of modifying to make it fit). That being said, with the 475 being common, the difference in speed is probably not worth the hassle.
I've not tried it for this, but Graphics Converter is probably worth a shot... since it opens pretty much anything:

Certainly there are a lot of areas that could be improved. Feel free to make any changes you like!
MediaWiki, the software that is developed for Wikipedia, etc.
BTW, I've moved this to the Wiki forum.
Why do we need a second Wiki for this? Surely it's better to concentrate the effort on one to avoid having to do the same work done. A lot of the ground work is done on the MLA Wiki already... but we really need people to contribute content. We'd be grateful for anything* in any form, as even...
We actually used to have an 8-ball Mac one, but we decided that we liked the old [8] better and hence it was a little redundant.
Me! They were actually designed for AppleFritter 2.0, but were adopted here as well. The original thread about them is here here, though all the images are now long...
Yep, that one does look better. Cheers. I've made a couple of tweaks to other ones too. I've also added your :approve: and :disapprove: ones, macgeek417, since they are quite nice. I don't know how many more we need though [:o)] ]'>
For performance reasons, we use the MySQL native ("FULLTEXT") search index rather than phpBB's native search index. This has a built in limit of 4 characters minimum for search terms and is a server wide setting and, unfortunately, can't be changed.
Since it's such a common vector for SPAM attacks, external links in signatures have now been disabled. You can still link to pages on the MLA wiki using the wiki tags (see here) and also to topics and posts on the forums using the topic and post tags by entering the topic/post ID (which is shown...
