    Domain problems...

Well, the domain was supposed to be renewed last night... but I guess something went wrong with it. Until we get it sorted, the forums will be up here at 68kmla.com. Sorry about the inconvenience! Tom

    The annual 68kMLA whip-round...

Many thanks to everyone who's donated so far, you've all been more than generous! Don't worry, I have no desire to put adverts on the site. To be honest there's probably very little point considering the size of our userbase and the high proportion which, I would guess, have ad-blocking...

    The annual 68kMLA whip-round...

Yeah sorry about that! The account just wasn't accepting payments for some reason [:(!] !]'>

    The annual 68kMLA whip-round...

Hey everybody, I hate to resort to this shameless begging, but here goes... We aim to provide this site as a free resource but, as I'm sure you can imagine, we do have a few overheads associated with running this forum, the Wiki, the RetroChallenge site, etc. Hosting and domains cost real money...

    Spam Threads

phpBB 3 has a built in post reporting feature, so that'll be added when we upgrade. As for multi-quote, I'll have a look into it...

    Hi

Some of the link's on Gamba's TidBits page still worked last time I tried them (a few months ago): http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/tidbits.html They should be self extracting archives (.sea) IIRC.

What's wrong with the PM system?

Sorry JRL, didn't actually send you one before so I've just sent one [:)] ]'> The one to funkytoad went through just fine too. Not sure why you didn't get one iamdigitalman...

What's wrong with the PM system?

Hmm, I can't see why it shouldn't be working. I've sent a test PM to you iamdigitalman and also to you funkytoad. Please reply to them if you get them. Are your inboxes full by any chance, that's the only thing I can see it being... You should be able to PM a user whether they are on or off...

    iPod Nano 4GB Silver

That's a 3rd gen then. The 1st gen was tall and skinny with a white or black plastic front and polished metal back. The 2nd gen was basically the same but re-cased in a single piece of aluminium which wraps around (iPod mini style) with a plastic top and bottom. Neither of those play videos, but...

    iPhone 3G :)

And since AT&T charge an extra $10/month for 3G data than they did with the original iPhone, you actually end up paying more over the 2-year period than before... even though you seem to be getting the hardware for cheaper [xx(] ]'> Comparatively, we've got a pretty sweet deal with O2...

    2.0 Software

As far as I can tell, yes that is the case. But, again, I'm no business law expert! This is what I read: http://www.macworld.com/article/131991/2008/02/ipodtouch.html

    2.0 Software

I believe it's to do with the way that they account for the revenue from the iPhone vs. the iPod touch. I'm not too sure about the details, but they can't add new features to existing products without charging and upgrade fee or else they'd be breaking some law or defrauding the shareholders or...

    Retro-Rocket 08 demo

The forum doesn't actually have an attachment function, but the wiki does, so that might be your best bet. If you zip/gz the file first then you should be able to upload it straight here: http://68kmla.org/wiki/Special:Upload

    RetroChallenge Hall of Fame page?

The only sites that are still up are the ones that I linked to. The 2005 'Challenge page is on archive.org, but it might be worth saving a copy to the server: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://desnoyers.org/retrochallenge/ The first 'Challenge was in 2004 IIRC. I'm not sure if there was a...

    RetroChallenge Hall of Fame page?

That's my feeling too. I like the different "personality" each one has [:)] ]'> It wouldn't be hard to keep a copy of the entries to each 'Challenge on the site's server posterity though. Would just take a bit of organising...

    RetroChallenge Hall of Fame page?

The websites from last year and this year's Winter Warm-up are still online: http://retrochallenge.net/2007/ http://retrochallenge.net/2008/winter/ As is luddite's Old Computer Challenge website, which could be considered the "Winter Warm-up" for 2007: http://ld8.org/OldComputerChallenge/
