    $15 QuickSilver

Yes, I definitely agree that the pinnacle of G4 case designs was the QuickSilver... the MDD was just way too blingy. Here's what's in it now: 733 MHz G4 256 MB RAM 80 GB 7200 RPM HD 32 MB GeForce 2 MX with ADC and VGA Internal Zip 250 drive, CD-RW Interestingly, but unsurprisingly, ECU...

    $15 QuickSilver

Got this from East Carolina University surplus for $15, its a fairly basic 733 with no RAM or HD (they wanted $50 for one with those). Also picked up an Apple Pro Keyboard for $7 while I was there :)

Wanted: A List of Macintosh Toolbox A-Line Traps.

Oh, I forgot... you may want to disassemble the A-line trap handler. This is the code the 68k CPU calls when you call an A-line instruction. I believe it is located at address 0x30. Note that just the address is given at 0x30.

Wanted: A List of Macintosh Toolbox A-Line Traps.

Might not have the jump instructions, just addresses. There are some features of 68k addressing modes that make that feasible.

    Mac ROM Checksum Computation?

Just a heads up, the beginning of address space in 68ks is used for vector addresses. In particular, the first 32 bits are used to hold the initial value of the A7 register, then the next 32 (addresses 4- 8) are used to hold the initial value of the program counter. For this reason, many 68k...

Quick question, can you put a Single G4 on Dual G4 board?

Yep, works just great. The mobos are identical between single/dual.

PPC G5 Halts, Panics, Crashes - heat related?

No, not really. The G5 was actually an atrocious chip, even by the day's standards. Even fast P4s were generally better, and that's saying something. I would be willing to bet that even just one core of a MacBook Air's C2D would be faster than that G5 I had. Hell, even my 1.5 G4 PowerBook was...

PPC G5 Halts, Panics, Crashes - heat related?

I had a 1.6 until recently... that thing was utter garbage. It was easily beaten (performance-wise) by a 1.5 GHz G4 PowerBook I used to have. Terrible, terrible desktop performance. It also had annoying fan issues and strange power supply noises.

    Changing "Welcome to Macintosh"

Actually its the DSAT resource, and you'll need to make sure the length matches (or is padded appropriately) in the hex editor. Its doable, but not for the faint of heart.

    Trenton Conquest Part III

From what I've heard, its not just ADC that uses that, the PMU uses it too, and its needed to run.

    Yep, Raleigh does that too.

    Trenton Conquest Part III

The B&W lacks ADC, so it does not have the 28VDC line. No tower prior to the GBE does, and additionally, the connectors are different.
