Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
It boots from Floppy. Not tried an external HD yet.
I don't have either of those programs on floppy at this moment.
Not a Mini-DIN, a full sized DIN (AT keyboard port style).
I find when machines I have do silly things that I just let them sit unplugged, without a main battery, for a few days.
Further, it is possible that something went on the logic board while you were updating. The Sad Mac hexadecimal numbers should give some kind of indication on the problem...
Found this in my latest conquest. Since the HD appears to be dead or missing (not detected and not powering up).
I don't have a photo yet, but I was wondering if anyone knew what this would be used for? I don't have the proper screwdriver ATM to open it up and find out more information.
Any...
It shouldn't be difficult to find a replacement CPU. An affordable option may be this $10 + Shipping option. It should only cost about $10 to ship by international letter mail (it cost me $7 to ship some duo RAM to Australia to a fellow 68kmla member).
Well both work except for the bad HD in one. The CRT with burn-in is only noticeable when it is off, otherwise you don't see it.
I hope to make 2 good ones as I have a spare HD to put into the one without. I have never opened one of these so I will have to look for a tutorial on it (as soon as...
Never owned one of these in my life but I remember using them at school.
Both are in working condition.
Model 1 - Ireland built 1990
8MB RAM 40MB HD
Ethernet PDS Card
Could have more RAM but I think that MODE32 is not installed.
Light screen burn-in
Model 2 - USA Built 1988
8MB RAM No...
Most tray loading drives seem to work in a Pismo. I have a few dead pismo drives come through my hands, and I was lucky enough to have a few parts PC laptops. I took the optical drives, popped them into the pismo cage, put them in, and they worked great!
Some drives do not function at full...
I had some issues with getting a IIfx to display video on a Dell LCD. I think it has something to do with sync on green. For me, the IIfx decided to wash out the image on the LCD and it would do that with both video cards and different DB-15 to VGA adapters. Using an official DB-15 Apple monitor...
I found a solution to this issue. Locally I was able to get a set of original Harmon/Karon Sounsticks USB!
Cost me $70 but they are next to impossible to find!
Great sound too!
Now i have the whole set for display once we move.
The one thing missing is the USB headphone adapter. Can anyone suggest an alternative?
I would love to use some ball speakers since they match, but without the proper adapter its not an option at this point.
Also, looking for soundsticks and sub :)
I've been wanting a Cube since they were released in 2000. It is a basic 450mhz/192MB/40GB/DVD and it came with a 17" Apple ADC LCD monitor.
Its a neat unit in decent overall physical and working condition.
I ended up trading my DP G5 for it that had 2 dead RAM slots out of 4. Seemed a little...
I'd love to get my hands on a good 6100/7100/8100. They seem to be...difficult to find around here right now.
The only ones I can even find are on ebay and are stupid priced (plus super-expensive shipping).
Nice job with the 8500. You must have better luck an coaxing OSX onto units that don't...
You could get OS X to work on the 8500 but it will take a lot of patience to accomplish. Personally I think they are great OS7-9 units for old gaming (even Diablo II works on them...barely).
Glad to see its going to be useful somehow. It was the remainder of a 1400 I got with a good LCD but the bad board. Luckily I had a spare working 1400 bottom case. Matched up the good parts and off it went to a fellow 68k member!
Good luck with mapping the 1400 logic board. I'd like to see your...
If you use the right driver and Wireless card you can do WEP, but due to the age of the Wallstreet, WPA would not be an option. By the time WPA came to being, the market for Apple supported PC Card Wireless cards had dropped off the edge of the planet, so I highly doubt there are any PC Cards...
So they actually exist. I have heard they were made and sold, but never heard of even seen photos of any. Can you take a photo set of the unit inside and out?
