Newlife Computer Corp CD308D Upgrade Card for Mac plus?

I wonder if it is for the SE rather than a 128k/512k(e)/plus. I have heard of upgrades for the SE included SCSI thanks to some weirdness in the onboard SCSI hardware (slow or something). The 030 sounds like an appropriate upgrade for an SE and the May '93 date on the CPU makes it a good bet...

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

Found this link for Apple Part Number 630-1922 and this add-on, part number 820-0745-a. From this I now learned the PCI card I have is designed for a Performa 5500 and not of much use in my 8600.

Same here. I refused to deal with compactmaclover even though s/he had one. I'd be willing to trade/buy one if I knew someone who had one.

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

Possibly a firewire card. I also have this AVID card thing that I was given some time ago but I think it was meant for another computer. It has the attached component ports on their own board and the cable connecting the two is too short to attach the PCI to the DAV port on the 8600...

Does anyone actually own a ATB to test my theory?

Very nice! According to everymac that unit never shipped. So you definitely have one rare Mac!

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

We've had successful booting! The 2GB drive ended up being a dud (froze the computer and made clicking noises), so I installed a 4.3GB Quantum Atlas II drive instead. It has 120MB of RAM and 3 free RAM slots plus a USB card. I plan to install a PCI Video card that I have lying around and...

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

I just went to install a 2GB Seagate Barracuda and installed it on the bottom of the case. After further inspection I found that bracket on top of the power supply you mentioned. It brings the total HDs I can installed to 3 in addition to the Zip and CD-ROM already installed. I am going to...

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

Its possible. They have the all same ports but the big questions is are they in the same spot on the motherboard? They are based on different architectures (7600 is TNT and 8500 is Nitro) so it may be setup differently.

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

I used to have an 8500 back in 2000 that I bought used for $200. It worked great. I eventually had 144MB of RAM in it, a 4MB ATI card, and a 180mhz CPU card in it before I bought a new PC. The 8500 by that point had started to get worn out and slow. I eventually sold it without most of the...

    Power Macintosh 8600/300

Today I picked up a Power Macintosh 8600/300 with a Applevision 1710 monitor. I have been told it all worked when it was last used but i haven't been able to power it up just yet. The 8600 has the CDROM, floppy and zip drive but no HD. There are 5 slots full of RAM but only 2 of the VRAM slots...

    Apple Interactive Television Box

Interesting. I have never seen SCART on any TV I have owned or seen.

    Apple Interactive Television Box

Reviving my old thread. I don't think I am going to get my hands on one of these. The experiment I wanted to test was whether you can use the drivers found on the web for this and whether the drivers apply to the SCART output. My theory is that it was designed to British Telecom Interactive and...

Apple 12" RGB (LC Monitor) - Focus Issue

I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to CRTs but I am thinking a bad capacitor myself on the power board.

How do you make OS9 Kid Friendly

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will start with Panels and I will make sure to have Kid Pix Deluxe and other suggested software on it. It will take time, but I hope to have it setup in a week or two.

How do you make OS9 Kid Friendly

I have a Tangerine iBook that I want to setup for my daughter. Besides games (I have lots of those), what software exists to make the OS more kid friendly. I am hoping it will be enough to allow my 3 year old to use it without too much assistance. Any software suggestions or hints would be...

    vintage Mac shareware: Tetris Max

I remember playing Tetris Max. Not entirely sure where we got it from, but I think we played it for years until my family migrated to OSX. I think it was used from an original LC up until a PM 7500.

I got a weird one for ya

Few questions: Have you tried a fresh install of the OS? Did the Ethernet card before before? Are the right drivers installed (if needed)?

    Super5300ce™ - 180 MHz ProcSwap-n-Clock Chip Hack

That would be a nice unit once completed. Do you have the MO drive that was made for the 190/5300?
