I would suggest taking the main battery from the one that lights up and put it into the 2 dead ones. Perhaps they have completely dead batteries. It might work!
That sucks. I did inquire as to the CPU speed and they stated 1ghz...which does not exist. Needless to say I did not bid on it.
On the plus. you get an awesome Kanga. I have always wanted a working version but the only one I have had apparently was very good at killing hard drives.
Have you...
Has anyone been having problems logging into 68kmla using classilla? On my pismo it has not been letting me log in but provides the error 'Too many attempts to login' and i have to enter in the words. The catch is it will not log in, rather just repeats that error.
Is this a classilla thing or...
Lucky you. I thought about buying that but they wanting 76$ for international shipping so it was not worth it even though I badly wanted the duo's.
As for the upgrade, they are uncommon enough that they command a sum on ebay when they do up (which is not often).
I was looking at that. Just couldn't justify $55 to ship it to me with only the possibility that it has a G3 in it. Hope you are lucky and it does have one.
I appreciate the advice. I ran ASD 2.5.8 and it found that the RAM slots are bad immediately. I am going to test the other components and recalibrate the CPU as you suggest.
It certainly does sound like a jet when it is running!
EDIT: Seems like everything else is working fine except the 2...
Indeed it is. I noticed that all the RAM slots were occupied but only 512MB was recognized. Further inspection showed that the 2nd pair of RAM are 1GB but not visible. I reinstalled the big sticks in the 1st pair and known RAM in the 2nd pair. Still no go for the 2nd pair.
I'm guessing it...
Tonight I just picked up a G5 1.8ghz DP and a 400mhz G4 Tower.
The weird thing is apparently they removed the hard drives before selling them to me, yet there is a drive in both computers. The G5 is missing the optical drive, guide screws, and the hard drive that was installed was on the IDE...
I bought a PDQ on ebay for $5 plus shipping.
It works fine except for one thing. After a short time of use, the internal drive will startup and do a self-check, and then power down. It will repeat this issue and it will not boot from CD while it does this. Last time it just eventually turned...
I have owned quite a few Laserwriters. A few Personal LW, a 16/600, and a LW Select 360. They were all in various conditions.
All Personal LW I have had are not functional. I do have 2 untested so that may change :)
The LW Select 360 are great and it kept me going right through...
Now i am glad that I did not get one of the big drives in my IIfx. At some point in its life it had a marker with NO HARD DRIVE written on the top. I guess the original died because when I got it it had a standard Apple Quantum 230MB drive inside. Probably a lot nicer than the original.
BTW...
Soon it will be 64MB when you get the package! 8.1 will run like a Dream then. From experience, I would not suggest anything higher than 8.6 with 64MB RAM.
The 1400 has a slower bus then the 6300 and, depending on the model of CPU you have, also has L2 cache which can make a big difference.
I know that the 1400 is the last Nubus based logic board Apple made. Perhaps that has something to do with it as well.
It could also be an indication to find...
