Well... I've gotta correct myself, the Airport PCMCIA card in my PowerMac G4 Quicksilver, does indeed support WPA, but not WPA2, so I'm not sure if the Linksys router I have has a WPA/WPA2 mode, but the Apple Airport Extreme A1143 that I picked up for $5 does, so my PowerMac G4 Quicksilver is...
No CD Drive, only extra is a bag that goes with it, and the charger. I didn't think my offer was out of line.
Yet, you pay a lot for the convenience of eBay.
Nice find, I can't imagine it being difficult to find a power adapter that would work. I'd love to get something like this, but no luck, people want too much.
So I found this guy selling a Powerbook 1400c/166 for $85, the post is 5 months old. What is this laptop worth, I'm thinking $20, but he says it's definitely worth more and wouldn't budge. Laptop is in working condition.
Thoughts?
So, just realized how slow it would be if I connected my PowerMac G4 Quicksilver to wifi, even if I could, which I can't because last I checked my wifi doesn't have WEP, I think... I could be mistaken, but they the Airport card installed in my G4 Quicksilver doesn't support WPA security...
Geez... I think my Macintosh SE FDHD is running System 2 dot something, I'll have to start it up later to verify, I don't think the original owners of this mac ever upgraded it to something newer.
Thanks for the information, I will try to do this, my initial attempt at formatting a 3.5" floppy didn't have an option labeled HFS though, so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I'll post some more about what I am using when I get home, so I make sure I I'm not missing anything.
I'm looking for information, if it exist, to create floppy disk on either a Windows 10 machine, a modern Mac OSX, or even something like a Powermac G4 with OSX 10.4.11 or loaded possibly with an older OS like Mac OS 9.2? I want to use these floppies for a Macintosh SE FDHD and a Macintosh IIci.
So my Apple Color Plus 14" Display works fairly well, however, the switch doesn't want to stay in the on position, I have to hold it for it to stay on. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Well, the alternative repair that I came up with was completely successful. On the diagram, I was able to get the negative lead of C16 verified as a common ground. I used a long bridge wire from the negative lead of C16 to the negative lead of C15.
@trag @CompgekeAlright, I found a schematic, and I need some confirmation on how I am reading this. When I look at C16 it looks like it is connected to a common ground via the negative side of the capacitor. So if that is correct, I could easily attach a bridge wire to another negative pad like...
Anybody have the schematic for this board or know where C16 negative terminal goes?
My repair has not been successful and need an alternative place to put a bridge wire.
I’m a bit knew to doing this type of repair, are you saying a should scrape off a bit of solder mask directly above or below where the missing pad was? If not could you annotate where you mean?
I'm ok with doing a bridge wire, any idea what gauge I should be using for a bridge wire?
On the idea of scraping off solder mask beside the pad, is there fresh copper underneath that on these boards?
Here's a picture of what I am dealing with. Maybe you can help me with figuring out how where...
$50 was not going to happen, prices for vintage Apple products seem to be on the rise. The Performa 550 was a no go with the busted battery causing damage, so I didn't want to get into that, I already have a Power Macintosh 7200/90 that should work nicely as a bridge PC anyways, along with my...
Thanks everyone for the information, I passed on both the Beige G3 and the Performa 550. Didn't really want to get the Beige G3 and I found out that the Performa 550 PROM battery had gone critical, bunch of battery acid and gunk had gotten on a portion of the board, didn't really want to bother...
