    Xserve G4 L3 cache failure

Hi! I have Xserve G4 slot-loading (https://everymac.com/systems/apple/xserve/specs/xserve_g4_1.33.html). I've noticed that Diagnostics tab of System Information shows L3 cache failure. I reset NVRAM, ran Apple Service Diagnostics and it shows L3 cache 0 bytes. I physically removed the CPU and...

    Mac Plus video issue

Thanks, guys, for your expertise. I will think twice before buying, because to the price of the board I'll need to add a price of shipping (an expensive thing). Probably, I should wait for a more clear offers, or, at least, for offers in my city, to avoid abroad shipping costs.

    Mac Plus video issue

Thanks for info about logicboard caps—the same issue was on my Mac Classic II, I recapped it and it works well. So I think there is the same situation, so try to contact the seller if he will able to send me only Analog Board part. PS: I've found what is that device: Kensington System Saver...

    Mac Plus video issue

Hi! I am looking for purchasing an Analog Board for my dead Mac Plus. I've found a seller who offer dead Mac Plus with white and black bars on screen. I want to ask you, guys, if you know, is it a problem of Logic Board or a problem of Analog Board? I want to ask the seller to extract Analog...

    Microphone

Wow, interesting. What's the difference between the first and the second, except additional adapter? By the way, there are also at least one more model—looks the same as the third but in clear case. I bought such recently. While I don't know how I will use it, just bought because it is cool looking.

    Any thoughts on this....it arrived!!!

Why do you want to thrash it? It's an interesting thing by itself.

    Any thoughts on this....it arrived!!!

I think, you should re-solder each rusted contact, to almost completely exclude rust from motherboard. I think, if you will not do that, then it will be hard to diagnostic it later when you will try to turn it on and if it will not turn on the first try. Also, if you know how to test these...

Macintosh M0100 mouse horizontal movements not working

I disassembled my mouse, it's the same, but the PCB is yellow, not green. Produced by Mitsumi. It looks like these receiving sensors caps can't be easily removed. I think, sensors should be desoldered in pairs to remove them with their caps (I mean, pair of receiving sensors)—not easy to do. I...

Macintosh M0100 mouse horizontal movements not working

Every module has five parts: two transmitters and two receivers, and a wheel between them. You are right, receivers are hidden. Try compressed air. Also I think, the black part can be somehow removed, I am looking a picture of a disassembled mouse and see a screw at bottom (top on the image)...

Macintosh M0100 mouse horizontal movements not working

There should be two sensors inside. One of them is dirty, probably. If you already tested the cable, then, I suppose, you already disassembled the mouse and inspected everything. Then maybe one of sensors is broken. But if you do not inspect it too much, then look this disassembly video, it will...

Recording video with Macintosh Classic II in frame

You are right about experience with external sync video devices. I do not have such devices. Theoretically, so powerful device like iPhone SE should allow it with no problems, but it is not a pro-equipment so it is somehow limited in software or hardware, as we can see.

Recording video with Macintosh Classic II in frame

iPhone 5S != iPhone SE. Based on my knowledge, the only allowed FPS is 60.15 Hz to get a whole picture from CRT screen. Please share your experience if you have success with another frame rates, exposure times and so on. Indeed, I can set, say 30 fps, but I need to set 1/60.15 exposure, and it...
