My SE started doing the screen-flicker thing. Looks like the image is a little squashed too. Too much space on the bottom.
I'm at work on my lunch so I figured I'd post the video I had on my phone. Looks like it's time to dig out ye olde Dead Mac Scrolls and have a look.

That's not a Mini Pro......this is a Mini Pro:
I also liked the Cube Pro too:
As well as the QuadraMini:
It's amazing what you can squeeze a mini into.
This too was a sweet hack: The Bang & Olufsen Mp3 Mac Mod
I've never considered jailbreaking any one of my iOS devices. I've just never seen the draw. But now I'm suddenly itching to see what the whole jailbreakng thing is all about. If it means I can get mini vMac running on my "retired" gen 1 iPad? I may have to consider it. I mean, for Dark Castle...
A guy from Florida who found my Apple site sent me an email to tell me he was cleaning out his closet and found a bunch of Macs that he wanted to get rid of. He couldn't bare the thought of just trashing them. He'd rather they go to a good home. So he offered them to me for the cost of shipping...
Yup. Bad caps on the analog board or a dry solder joint. In any case, it's the analog board. Maybe touch a soldering iron to the connections to refresh the joints. You also might need to swap out some caps.
I'm just saying, it seems crazy that someone would spend $2500 on a 128K to turn around within a year and spend what, a good $1500-$2000 on that upgrade? It must have cost close to a new machine. Right? If it was '85-'86, wouldn't the money have been bette spent on a Plus with an external HDD...
I've used those $8 soldering irons from RadioShack for decades. They suck. I've always wanted a "real" soldering iron station but could never see myself dropping $250-$300 on a Weller. I found the Hakko FX-888 on SparkFun for $100. It looked pretty cool and had some great reviews. I then found...
An auction is a binding contract. There's no question as to whether it's yours or not. It's yours. But I don't think that's what you're asking. $120 for a CC too much? That's up to the buyer. Some people won't pay more than $40 for a classic Mac. Others pay through the nose. I paid $400 for a...
@CC_333
You said it..."they're woefully outdated and rather unreliable"....
If we're to keep using these machine, if my kids want to use these machines when they're my age, then we need to ditch the floppies. Boards can be repaired, caps can be replaced, but when floppies go, they go. 20 years...
I probably won't bother. Seems like a lot of work considering I don't have the card that goes with it. There's no way for me to test it. Since it was already cracked into, perhaps the previous owner already tried to fix it. Maybe the previous owner made it worse trying to fix some other problem.
