    SCSI-Zip250_Project

I thought compacts couldn''t write to the 250s? Only the 100s. Or was that an Iomega driver thing? Can these be used with something like Lido 7?

bad ad: " Apple floppy drive "

    That's a steal at $25! Nice score.

    Prepping a 512K for use

I'd definitely open it up and take a look to make sure caps haven't leaked everywhere before powering it on. That stuff's conductive. You may do more harm than good turning the machine on if there's ooze all over the place. You can short out surrounding components. At least make sure it's clean...

Appletalk between IIc and Classic II

Did you follow the link to my site that I posted up top? It's really easy. You just need a USB/serial adapter. You can get them on eBay for nothing.

Appletalk between IIc and Classic II

Why not just use ADT Pro and skip the Classic Mac altogether? I tried it on my Apple II and //c and it works great.

Educated guess on price for a non-upgraded Lisa 1?

I've been watching eBay and haven't seen a Lisa go for less than $500, not in any condition you'd want anyway. They usually kill you on the shipping too. More often than not you see Lisas priced in the $10,000-$25,000 range. Which is a total joke.

12" PowerBook G4 Slows To A Crawl In Leopard

Apple had issue with 80G Seagate drives in the MacBooks back in 2007-ish. They were swapping them out for people even out of warranty: "The faulty drives are all Seagate 2.5″ drives that are manufactured in China, with Firmware revisions 7.01 and 3.CAE. They are also all SATA interface. No...

    Newton 110

Very nice. My Newton collection is almost complete. I have the 100, 110, 120, 130 and the eMate. I just need to 2000 and the 2100 and I'm done, but they're always so expensive! I do have to replace/fix my 110 though. It's missing all the screws on the back for some reason.

OS 9 in the box - 2 different boxes

I love collecting vintage OSes. It's like a collection within a collection. It's taken me a while to score OS 9 in the box. I have a few copies of OS 9 that came with 10.0 and 10.1, as well as with some of my iBooks, but I've never had OS 9 in the retail box. I finally filled the gap between OS...

At long last! "Through the Looking Glass" is mine!

"Through the Looking Glass" has been on my wish list for a long time now. This is another "Holy Grail" item of vintage Apple collecting. I never though I'd find one. I've only seen 2 or 3 come and go on eBay over the last few years. They are very rare. Not to mention the price is always a good...

    Steve Job's Personal Apple IIe

Ha! I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. I knew I saw this very model on eBay a few months ago. $45 grand? That's not exactly keeping it on the down-low considering how you got it. I'd wait a good 10 years before I asked for that kind of money.

    Steve Job's Personal Apple IIe

Yeh, it's not public domain until it hits the curb. I wouldn't go around advertising the fact you took this stuff off the property. It's one of those legal gray areas. I guess it all depends on where the dumpster was. If the dumpster was in the driveway and you entered the property to take it, I...

There're 8 RAM chips soldered to my Quadra 605's LB...

Will the ROM support the onboard RAM being swapped out like that? It wouldn't surprise me if code in ROM was hard-coded to save space.

    Yes, it's thermal.

    1980 Apple silentype printer

I scored this guy for only $60 bucks on eBay. I've seen them go for as high as $200-ish. It does have some signs of age, but in surprisingly good condition for a 32-year old printer. It even still has a roll of paper in it as well as the paper roll holders. That has to be a bonus...

Kinda big question on a small conquest

Dude, it's an LCII. Toss the boxes. If it was a TAM or a 128K or something, then maybe. The condition they're in adds no value. Keep the accessories box if that's OK, but the other ones that are unsanitary and covered in tape, I'd toss them. Being in mint condition, the unit will have value on...

Mac Plus turns off after short time

I've never seen a classic trip a breaker. Since all the machines tripped, I'd say the outlet was suspect. Did you try somewhere else in the house? I have all these Macs plugged in only 2 outlets and nothing ever trips:

    A little bit of Lisa . . .

I too dream of a Lisa and a TAM. I swore this would be the year that I get both. It's already close to April and still nothing. Hopefully the wife lets me tap the tax refund. Then again, I just bought her a $600 dollar pair of diamond earrings for her birthday, so come my birthday in June, she...
