    Using Disk Copy 4.2

Of course you can create images with Disk Copy 4.2. Just pop in a disk and click "Read Master Floppy". Once the disk has been read in, go to File > Save Image. You have now just saved an image of your disk. PS I though Disk Copy 6.3 didn't make a "true" byte-for-byte copy and could give...

    Using Disk Copy 4.2

You use Disk Copy to write a disk image to disk. As far as the Enabler, you just have to drop that in the System folder.

Color Classic flyback transformer smells like fish

I tried the trick several times and couldn't get it to come on. At one point, the green LED on the front came on, but it didn't boot.

Color Classic flyback transformer smells like fish

I finally got around to recapping my Color Classic, but unfortunately two of the pads came off the board and now the board is toast. I thought my LC 520 board would work so I popped it in, but the machine doesn't turn on. I wonder if the analog board has gone kaput too.

bad ad: " Apple floppy drive "

The low price and the title definitely says they didn't know what they had, or else the title would have been: ***MUST SEE APPLE STEVE JOBS VINTAGE LIKE NEW OWN AN ORIGINAL 128K MACINTOSH ONE-OF-A-KIND LIMITED EDITION NO RESERVE***** ...and it would have been $150 bucks.

    My first Apple!

My Apple II is pretty much a dedicated Lode Runner machine. "glamor shots" That's good. I liked that.

Boiling old plastics, De-Yellow, Regain Flexibility ??

Boiling plastic is not going to do anything for the color. The reason's it's yellow is because the fire retardant's in the plastic shed O2 atoms after their bonds have been weakened by exposure to UV light. Boiling it will do nothing to put oxygen back into the plastic. In order to restore the...

    Weller Soldering Station

Congrats on the conquest. I've always wanted a Weller, but could never bring myself to drop the ~$200 on the model that I wanted. My wife picked up a Haako FX888 for me last Christmas. It was only $90 on Amazon and it has to be the best soldering iron I've ever used.

    Mac Plus keyboard not working

You didn't by any chance happen to use a telephone handset cord thinking it was the same did you? I've seen people do that. The pinouts are different. If you connect a telephone handset cord to the keyboard, you'll toast it.

    Microsoft Flight Simulator 4 Problems

A simulator on an emulator? Interesting. Anyway, if you're in an emulator, and you move the mouse outside the bounds of the emulator, doesn't it switch focus back to your main OS, like mini vMac does?

SE/30 ram / hard drive... Giving sad Mac

According to Apple's KB article, you had a "nothing" error. I'd try another RAM stick and see what it does. Old Macs are very picky when it comes to RAM.

Can You Determine what LISA this is by the Photo?

So he spent $1700 on a broken Lisa not even knowing what model it is? Wow. I've seen people selling broken Lisas for $500 and I thought that was bad.

733 G4 Digital Audio, still in use!

It doesn't matter what it's going to be. There will always be two camps: 1) where users don't care how it works as long as it works, and 2) those who tinker, hack, and upgrade.
