Looks like 220 Ohms and 330 Ohms are commonly used:
1) Resistor Networks & Arrays 10pins 330 OHMS Bussed
2) Resistor Networks & Arrays 10pins 220 OHMS Bussed
Which should I get? My PCB has has two 10-pin resistor rows.
Alternatively, would be it easier to terminated a 50p ribbon cable. My...
Got a HD (Maxtor MXT 540S) for my SE/30 but it won't boot as internal drive. Curiously, if I put it into an external SCSI case w/ active termination, it boots. So, the problem appears to do with termination. I managed to find some info (in german) about jumper settings. But its TP...
Got hold of a blueSCSI. But no luck here. It works externally like my HD/SCSI2SD. Nothing happens when connecting thru a 50pin ribbon internally whether the device has termination jumpers set or not. That said, BlueSCSI works nicely externally and I like it. Thanks!
My 2fx has a 1990...
Thanks a lot for the detective work! I soaked it in hot water with detergent for some hours. And brushed the board especially around the legs. I will give it another go. Is vinegar a better solvent in this case?
Thanks ALL! It's good news that -5V is non-essential. Bad news is: my LC makes no chime and no display after powering on. I've started another thread about this.
Got a LC w/o a working PSU, but the board looks decent. So, an ATX PSU is used instead to provide 5V and12V. Sadly the machine turns on without any sign of life except the spinning fan.
I have soaked it in hot bath and have it fully recapped already but still no change. I had tried with and...
My goal is to test out whether my LC board is good rather than using the IIsi PSU for it. If this needs modification, I will pass. I'm looking for low hanging fruit and have a quick test. I also have an ATX PSU. With only 5V, 12V, Ground wired to my LC, would this simple hack enough to boot...
Is it doable to use a IIsi PSU for a LC? I hv a working IIsi PSU and a LC motherboard that I want to test out. Can anyone share the pinout of a IIsi PSU so that I can wire them to my LC motherboard? Also, is it possible to turn on the IIsi PSU (which doesn't have a power-on switch) ... like...
Hello!
I also have SCSI issues w/ my IIfx which have baffled me for a long time:- it cannot see any SCSI drives connected internally. Otherwise the machine works fine and I can boot from its external SCSI. This is true to SCSI HD as well as SCSI2SD. Jumper setting SCSI termination does not...
Agree. But recapping the analog board would be a taxing job which I'm not ready for yet. I'm trying my luck that someone has came across a similar one before and may have found out roughly which component(s) to replace or twist.
I have a working scsi hard drive. It has been tested to work fine with my Color Classic when booting from an external scsi chasis box with independent power source.
The problem comes when I fit it back into my CC internally. Now, it won't boot and the hard drive doesn't spin. Turns out the...
Thanks a lot for spotting that! Unfortunately, my board has C1 intact. I now suspect that the orphan capacitor might drop out of a vertical board at the very front which has a cable to connect the floppy drive. It is very deep inside. I'll probably need to disassemble the major parts in...
Thanks for looking into this. The highlighted component (w/ silver color) is intact on my CC mb.
I had search capacity list of CC before, but none of them uses 33u 25V. The cap may not come from the mb or even the analog board but other parts of the CC. So, still a mystery to me.
Got a little fellow dropped out as I pulled the CC motherboard out from its body. It is a yellow tantalum capacitor of 33u 25V.
Since I haven't recapped anything, all components are original. I thought it came out from the motherboard. But my search was futile. Nothing seems missing in...
I think the coprocessor is optional as saw in another thread. But it's good that u confirmed it can be used in SE/30 w/o problem.
I had run its testing suite where it passed both memory and NIC tests. It failed at the loopback.
Anything else I can try to make it works?
I have taken a Asante MacCon PDS card from a IIsi machine and would like to know if I can put it into a SE/30 because they are both PDS. The problem is that I cannot get the card working after configuring IP stuff from MacTCP/Control Panel. I have installed Asanté 5.1.2 on my SE/30...
Happened to have the same issue after recap. I fixed it. Turns out there was a short between C8-C10 and a line next to these caps. Wasn't visible to my eyes at all but my wire trace showed there was a short there. I re-soldered them. The short disappeared and it booted to normal.
