    My first G4!

Well, not an actual G4 machine per se, but a Sonnet G4-700 PCI accelerator for my 7200. Of course, it won't work until I replace the 7200's logic board with the 7500 logic board I bought a while ago... if I could only remember where I left it.... Still, not bad for $30.

When's the new chalenge coming up?

Cool, I've been wanting an X10-controlled home for a while now, just have to get off my lazy behind to do it. (Imagine MacTV's 6100 Media Center project with an X10 interface?)

When's the new chalenge coming up?

Cool, a fellow Model T'er! In last year's Retrochallenge, I managed to get "Gibraltar" (my Model 100) to connect with my Sparc IPX at home using a payphone and acoustic couplers at 300 baud... using my Sparc (and cable modem) as a sort-of dialup internet gateway was interesting for a few...

    PowerBook 170 Problem

You may also try a soft-face hammer or "deadblow" hammer. (And before anyone asks, yes, I'm serious.) I used one on my old PB160 when I first got it (after trying the flexing and prying tricks previously mentioned) and found, a tap at the appropriate angle, with "just" the right amount of...

    I Give Up!

Amen to that! I'm grateful most of my hardware (most) works well in my Sun Ultra 5 running Debian etch. A testament to their hard work and dedication!

    MachTEN

I've been thinking about picking up MachTen for a while now... Will probably do it in the next week or two, as I've just purchased a similar product called AmiWin/X for my Amiga 2000. Been itching to learn to develop for Unix... maybe I'll pick up an old 68K based Sun machine too and do some...

    My new favourite 68k

My favourite 68K Mac is and always will be my late, lamented LC475. It was my first. Mac, that is. (My favourite 68K machine, however, is still my Amiga 2000 [:D] ]'> )

    Several Powerbook 540 Questions

Let me know if you find a PPC death-ray. I could have used one for my 5300 during an attempted mugging a few years ago. Powerbook + skull = ouch }:)

    Several Powerbook 540 Questions

I thought the cage only worked in the left battery slot..? Having four PCMCIA slots would be cool... imagine 3 x 4Gb+ compactflash cards and a wifi card..?

    Several Powerbook 540 Questions

That's essentially why I canned my 540c project :( Believe it or not, it has been superseded by my Powerbook 5300 project...

    Several Powerbook 540 Questions

Hate to be an opportunist, but this thread has inspired me to post my rev C PCMCIA module for sale. http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=34482#34482 I'm likely never going to finish my PB540 project, so hopefully someone can give it a good home :(

4.09Mhz Built from the ground up Mini-brew MicroComputer

Cool site! And speaking of which, have any of you heard of this? I'm thinking of building one myself when I have a bit of time (early next year) http://home.hetnet.nl/~weeren001/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimig

Damn! Sorry Bunsen, I wish I'd seen this thread earlier as I have a spare 400MHz Lombard logic board w/DVD decoder that you could have had for next to nothing...
