Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
The thought crossed my mind of using brake fluid on a spray painted 7100 and it should be noted that this would be a huge mistake on the metal part of the computer, as it will remove the original paint as well!
I feel reasonably good that retrobrite won't remove non-sticker labeling that's...
olePigeon beat me to it!
I have a raw extracted normal PEX startup chime, it is 1.487 seconds long, 44.1 kHz stereo. It is however cut shorter than the MP3 version floating around, likely from a different ROM rev.
I also have a raw extracted "I know that I rescued this company - KILL ME" PEX...
A program called "CompactPro" will extract .cpt files for you.

Note that the installer for CompactPro will not run in classic mode. You will need to run this on a computer booted form Mac OS 9 or older, or run it within Basilisk II or SheepShaver.

In case you don't know the exact name of this display, it will help in your searches to know that it is a "Macintosh Color Display." That's the actual name printed on the back of this monitor.

Though in the image you posted it is displaying...
I must have changed resolutions or something because my character palette's title bar was squarely under the menu bar in 10.4.11, so I couldn't move it. There's no keystroke to zoom the character palette because of its floating nature and only the title bar is draggable. After a brief period...
You should contact the folks at Wolfram, they're very helpful people and they'll probably help you with this if there's anything they can do, but beware they'll try to sell you the latest version too. Make sure you know why you want 1.0 working first, be it nostalgia or some other purpose, and...
I'm not sure on the monitor - I have a PS/2 monitor that goes with it but it's not even close to functional. I found lots of pine needles and rust inside when I opened it so I'm guessing it sat outside in the rain for a period of time.
My PS/2 did not come with any disk, nor does the disk...
I have a PS/2 Model 80 with one giant MFM drive in it and internal 3.5" and 5.25" drives. When turned on it does nothing except the hard drive spins up and the speaker clicks as if power was applied and made it there, but no beeps and no disk drive activity. Nothing on the Sony Trinitron...
You could test it on a small area, for example a screw tab. Submerging the plastic, if possible, would probably give you the most even results. I'd like to know too actually - I have one of these that's really yellow.
I'm sorry to say but those aren't the original feet. :( The ones on...
I think retrobrite might be bad for the inside of the plastics - I believe they have a reddish sprayed on EMF shield paint that you probably don't want to dissolve.
That's cool - I didn't notice there was a Mac Classic build.
It works fine for me but I can't get it to boot form the ROM disk. Is there a special trick you used? I hit apple+option+x+o as fast as I could and I just got the flashing question mark.
I downloaded from here...
