    Something fun and trivial

I wouldn't know about the best platformer of all time for the Apple II, unless you might consider the Lode Runner series to be it (you can find the disk images for Lode Runner at the Asimov archive), but there is a NEW apple II game I know of. It's written by David Schmenk and it's called Ecape...

My freinds IIe, how do I get software on to it?

Actually it depends on the disks. As long as they are Double Density disks they will work in the IIe. High Density 5.25 disks can't be read or formatted by the Apple IIe. Dean

Reconstructing Apple I BASIC from a Cassette Tape

Nope, I started out with a Trash-80 (TRS-80) Model I Level II with all of 16k of memory, black and whiter monitor and a tape drive. Used it for about a year or so before I stepped up to an Apple II+ with 48k and a disk drive. Used an RF modulator and my portable color TV as monitor because I...

You might be interested in checking out this website: http://virtualgs.larwe.com/Virtual_GS/Welcome.html The guy doing the site lives in Singapore and put it as a way to help people learn to program the GS. Koala Pad Touch Tablet?

Here's an article you might find helpful about the KoalaPad: http://www.vectronicsappleworld.com/collection/koala.html according to the article you can find it on eBay but don't pay more than $10 for a used one. I seem to remember having one of these. or something similar, back in the mid...

Three Apple //GS systems for sale

You're a lucky guy David. I wouldn't have minded being able to snag one. My GS at home is bare bones, with the exception of a 4mb memory card I bought from Macdog. I figure I'm going to see about adding either a CFFA card or a Micro/IDE drive over Christmas. I'd also like to eventually add an...

Three Apple //GS systems for sale

David, I wondered where they went. I had been curious where he was located because, as of today, I'm currently in Sanford, NC visiting a friend. If you hadn't swooped on them I was going to see if I could at least get the system with the Transwarp GS so I could add it to mine. Dean

stupd topic about disk image formats for the IIgs

What you need to do is go here: http://adtpro.sourceforge.net/ and download ADTPro. Read everything on the webpage and it will tell you exactly what you need to hook either your Mac or PC up to your GS and begin transferring disk images to the GS to real disks again. This is by far the best and...

    Engadget: Custom-Built Apple IIgs Laptop

The one big difference, to me, between John's site and the one you posted is that there is no step by step instructions on how Tony, if he's the one that did it, put this together. So there's no way I can build a GS portable myself using his page. On the other hand John is documenting it so...

Five Reasons Why GS/OS Beats Vista or OS X

That is a great article on Ken's part. I'm happy that I have a GS again to use. Now all I need to do is add either a CFFA card or the Microdrive IDE controller from Reactive Micro to make my GS even more functional. Dean Apple II Forever!

    Apple //c Platinum?

I've got both the 9" IIc monitor and the stand for it. Unfortunately the stand doesn't have the bar that goes through the bottom of the IIc and the holes in the stand to hold it in place. I'm pretty sure you could get away with using some other sort of substitute. Dean Apple II Forever My...

IIgs - Where Do I Start?

Rockin' Cat, You're a little mixed up here. The 3.5 drives are slot 5 and the 5.25 drives are slot 6 on a GS not the other way around. In the long run what he needs is software, since the computer does boot and accesses the disk drive, but since there's no software it just keeps whirring. Dean

IIgs - Where Do I Start?

Since you obviously have either a PC or Mac, to be able to post here, go to: http://adtpro.sourceforge.net/ and download a copy of ADTPro. Be sure to read the section of the website on 'Boot strapping' a bare metal Apple II. With this program, and the correct cables to hook the PC/Mac to the...
