I have been testing all my favourite games on the Plus to make sure they work, however I am having issues with Pax Imperia. I can start it and choose the star system but can't get past that. Any known issues with that game on the Macintosh Plus?
I live near a e-recycle drop off. The stuff I find there is unbelievable, I often wonder why would people toss this stuff. Never a retro Mac though. Lots of iPods old iPhones powerbooks etc. My favourite find was 3 original game boys 2/3 worked.
Yes you could do floppies but those are getting harder to find and my experience is that the fail after some time. My floppy collection probably looses 10% of its members every year.
The real solution is Big Mess of Wires Floppy Emu. It hooks into the floppy port on the back and let's you...
I had a few bad Macintosh Conquests lately. From a local recycler I got a Powerbook 140 & a Macintosh IIcx which don't work. The Powerbook is beyond help, the Macintosh IIcx chimes but probably needs a recap.
So I was very happy to find a perfectly working Macintosh Plus for $80. Where I...
I have a Personal LaserWriter NT with an old Toner Cartridge. It seems to print however it made the paper all dirty and the print was faint. So I figured the toner is old. I bought a new toner Cartridge, it was still sealed made by Apple. However its even worse toner is coming off lose from...
This is a copy of an article from a few years ago, really cool though, I wish someone would post a Raspberry Pi disk image that did that, so we don't have to set it up from scratch.
I thought I posted the photos today but it looks like the internet gods ate my post.
Will something like this work to convert the signal to VGA, did anyone have experience with this card:

At this point I just want to see...
So today I picked up a Macintosh IIcx. It is fairly beat up, its missing a hard drive but it seems to make the chime at least when powered on.
However it has the weirdest video card. On the card its labeled as a Grayscale Video Card.
I have very little experience with desktop Macs...
So I have been playing with my Classic II for a couple days now, and honestly I can't find 1 thing that it can do that my SE can't. I mean it has the 68030 so it should play better/more games etc. But I have not found a good game or app that works better on the Classic II that does not work on...
OK so I got it. It was not working as stated before. Had the Vertical Bars White/Black. However a quick wash got it going again. Looks like it will need a recap. However other than that it seems to be working quite well. I paid $60 which for Canada/Calgary prices I think is OK (we don't...
I kind of want to keep it original so I don't want to replace any hardware. I thought the HD20 Init software takes care of mounting the hard disk for you, is it just the Mac 128K does not have the ram to run it?
Thanks, I got an email from the guy selling the Mac Classic II and he had to pull the ad because when he want to set it up, it did not turn on.
He wants to fix it before posting it again. I am guessing bad caps or something.
I just got my floppy emu and I got my HD20 emulation working, but I am wondering if it will work on an un-expanded Macintosh 128K? I read somewhere that the Macn128K does not have enough memory to run HD20 Init. Has anyone tried it?
Someone is selling a Macintosh Classic II in my area and they are asking for offers? I know nothing about the machine (I think it works though)
What are they worth? What should I offer him as a fair price?
Thanks
