LC III certain sound/s causes crash

I recommend 7.5.3-7.6.1 for an LC III, but if you're willing to do some ResEdit hacking, you can get 8.0 and 8.1 onto it, as I've done on my LC III. If you do that, it's worth overclocking the LC III to 33MHz, which is done by moving a 0-ohm resistor on the board. You can look up how to do both

Design68: A 65% replacement keyboard using AppleDesign controllers

I wish I had seen this before trashing my dead AppleDesign Keyboard months ago. Luckily, a friend pulled two AppleDesign Keyboards out of the dump for me. While I get a photo of the controller on the spare, I have one request. Can you make the keyboards with Cherry MX Blue switches? I love...

    CDR-1410A Driver?

oh yeah, CD Sunrise works wonders, I use it with my LC III because I have a non-Apple SCSI CD drive I bought that I've been experimenting with. There is also a version of the AppleCD driver that can be used with any drive, which I think shipped with 7.6.1

    Guide or recommendations for 8.0/8.1?

Honestly 8.1 on my LC III overclocked to 33MHz runs like a 25MHz 040, it's still good though

    SSD in a LC/Performa 580

they should, all hard drives required the big molex connectors, and you can buy molex to mini molex (referred to as Berg) adapters

    SSD in a LC/Performa 580

you can only install SCSI solutions in the 520-575, but with the 580, it is possible because it uses IDE and you can either buy an IDE SSD or an IDE to SATA adapter
