    SE/30 with graphics issue

It was the UE8 chip mainly and missing signals going to the VideoRAM. After finding schematics and chip information I was able to trace which signals were missing and problem (graphics issue) is now 100% resolved. I just wish I could attach pictures of before and after but there have been...

    SE/30 with graphics issue

OK! I've made some progress now. At least 2 signals did not have contact from the UE8 chip with the next solder joints (probably from a former defective capacitor), this has been fixed now and now I only (still) have 1 line left that doesn't display but at least I can see quite OK now. For now...

    SE/30 with graphics issue

OK! I should mention that the graphics issue is there without memory installed or ROM board (or whatever it is sitting next to the memory), so it's an issue with the board itself or some chip I would assume.

    SE/30 with graphics issue

Tried another browser now, didn't work. Either there is an issue with my account or everyone has a problem with uploads.

    SE/30 with graphics issue

It uploads the file but as soon it's going to display in the thread I get a error message from the forum ("There was a problem uploading the file."). Can you upload a file (if you just test without actually posting it)? There is a limit om 500MB but I'm trying a file which is just 3MB+.

    SE/30 with graphics issue

Is just me who can't upload images? Well, it definately repeats (same pattern), shame I can't show the picture of it.

    SE/30 with graphics issue

Hi! So I aquired a SE/30. It was known to be in a "not working" condition but I thought I'd take it on. It has a poor (but still) recap done to it (soldering skills from the previous owner wasn't exactly "top notch"). I've fixed a couple of bad soldering points and I think that the recap is...

Macintosh SE 800K transfers between PC

Hmm, this URL is quite interesting; http://www.ccadams.org/se/serial.html I wonder if "Star Gate" will run on a modern Windows PC? How many disks are OS version 7?

Macintosh SE 800K transfers between PC

Thanks for that URL! That is definately a good start. I'll study it in more detail and I'll see if I can get hold of a copy of a decent terminal emulator "locally" first, but I wouldn't be surprised if I accept the offer on the disk, LaPorta! :-)

Macintosh SE 800K transfers between PC

To get things started I first need to get software onto the Macintosh SE. Anybody knows if there is a way transfer anything when just having the OS installed or do I need to get hold of a terminal emulator with ZModem or similiar 1st? If so, which program should I opt for? I guess there isn't...

Macintosh SE 800K transfers between PC

I'm kind of hoping to download diskette images from the Internet to the Windows PC (Windows 7+), transfer them to the Macintosh SE and extract them to diskettes there and from that either use them as diskettes (e.g game) or use the diskettes to make a harddisk installation (e.g Word processor or...

Macintosh SE 800K transfers between PC

A "gateway" is fine as I already have one rigged for my Apple II and /// series (with ADTPro). I was kind of hoping on a ADT for Macintosh since ADTPro has worked so fine for the other platforms. If I do need a terminal emulator of some kind to make the initial transfer (assuming there are...

Macintosh SE 800K transfers between PC

Hi forum! I'm a new user (of this forum)! I have an Macintosh SE with a 800K DD drive. I only have the 4 OS disks that came with the computer (version 6.x.x I think it was). I've ordered a transfer cable (null modem cable) from miniDIN to DB9 to be able to transfer images back and forth. Is...
